Do you not have 150 riding skill yet? If you do, it's not a big loss; just save up your bg tokens and you can get them fairly easily (except for the AV tokens... *shudder*). Otherwise that's an expensive patch :(
You can also try staying up until the server actually goes down to be patched... honor is technically updated before the server goes down so you *might* be able to sneak in and buy the 4 mounts real quick before it goes down... worth a shot at least?

I agree.
In previous weeks, the ranks have been updated at 2:00am PST... before the servers normally go down for maintenance at 5:00am PST. I'm sure that won't happen this week, but if I was that close to Rank 11, I'd give it a try.
Oh well, I guess my mage doesn't need to shoot for Rank 5 anymore... or does he. /lol

So the reputation with the league of arathor etc. will be removed too? That won't change a thing about buying the items with honor and the items price right?

I would imagine items that existed and were bought before this patch will continue to require you to have attained the necessary rank/rep. And it's not so much a removed as it is a reset, I believe. Though I dunno if they'll actually do anything. Whatever though, I have my AV title =P
Is there anyway to earn titles again after patch? Like through a set amount of kills? I really dont wanna have to level 5 times to 39 then get around 400hks to reach corporal in 12 or less hours. Not gonna happen
No, no more titles. Earning titles will be done as-of Tuesday (12/5). Earning gear was apparently finished as-of this past Tuesday (11/28).
If you haven't bought anything, you better get it this week.
I know that there are a lot of people that know what's going on, but I wish Blizzard would warn people of upcoming patches. (Like when we log in?) Even now, there are a lot of people that don't know about the respecs that are coming next week.

I agree.
I'm getting tired of explaining it to people in the game. Especially when my guild leader swears it's going to be the 20th because his friend knows a GM and that's what the GM said. He says whatever I read is just a rumor.

Why can't they institute a different system for ranks? Maybe something like this:

On top of the normal perks, receiving this prestigour rank will grant them a special faction-specific mount, a 20% discount to all vendors, 2 extra bank slots, a new 10-min hearthstone to the city of your choice, and a really bad-@ss reputation. (All ideas subject to masive change, please no flames)

You can't attain new ranks, but there will be an option to show your highest life time rank, meaning if you managed to get to GM, and yet at the time of the patch you're a private, you can still show that you had GM in the old honor system.
Wish I could find the post, but a CM said they are interested in allowing people alternative ways to earn all the titles, just with the expansion being their main focus at the moment, it ain't gonna happen till after January.

Well I remember that blizzard siad they would be doing one last re-calc before the patch, unless they do that after the servers go down it may be possible even with what blizzard has said about last tuesday being the recalc for buying things, I do have to wonder (not that I could jump from rank 6 to 11 to buy the mount) if they will keep their recalcs at the same time as they have in the past, which is before the servers go down. Soon as you get the new rank you can buy the new items for your rank... I did on the recalc that got me rank 6 (which I was up for doing that final push rnak 6 just cause I wanted it, and I got into the vendor area and bought the new tabard BEFORE the servers went down) so, for those close it is worth a shot even with blizzard saying that it isn't possible. I also doubt it will work, but I know i'd be trying it if I was close to something like that and could get it if I had "1 more week before the patch for the recalc" or whatever.

Ahhh, I missed that regardless of any increase in rank thing... Don't know why though lol. Oh well, sorry to all you guys who were close.
That Blizzard quote referred to logging in on Tuesday and expecting items to be unlocked, not hoping to snag them before the server goes down Monday night. Assuming honor does actually update before they bring the servers down, the items would be unlocked... simply because there's no way for Blizzard to prevent it.
However, given that they usually take the servers down two hours early, the chances of it updating in time are slim to none anyway... I really wouldn't plan on it. Do remember though that BC comes out in 6 weeks anyway... the mounts are really the only thing that people are really losing out on.
And imo I'd like to see the old honor ranks *not* be attainable post-patch. I'd rather see Blizzard come up with new titles that reflect the new honor system. I know they are doing it for the arenas but it would be nice if they did something similar for the other BGs as well. Kind of like how people with old the epic mounts now have something unattainable, I'd like to see that remain so for the current honor ranks. The servers will be flooded with people getting easy Rank 14 weapons in the next few weeks... it would at least be nice for those that actually did it the old way to have *something* to set their effort apart from others.
