Can stats be stacked? As a mage, if I have wrist armor that gives +6 Fire Spell Damage, and head armor that gives +8 Fire Spell Damage, do they combine to give +14 Fire Spell damage, or does the greater one negate the lesser one?
I know +Stamina, +Intellect, etc stats can be stacked, but I wasn't sure about +Spell stats.

Yes.
They stack. The formulae that they actually go by to determine how much added spell power is long and complicated (to me), and I don't know where to find it on this site, so I have linked the Wowwiki site that describes it.
Yes they do stack. If you are going for +damage/healing whatever it is best do do for a few pieces of that kind or the amount it does isn't really worth it ie +6 fire spell damage on it's own is hardly noticable.

Thx for the ultra-quick answer. So I could combine these two armor pieces as well as Elixir of Firepower for even more damage.

yes, that works.
different size potions of the same type however do not stack. so you can combine arcane elixir and elixir of firepower but NOT elixir of firepower and elixir of greater firepower.

But, the question is, if you were ever feeling insane enough to do so, could you stack an Elixir of Firepower with an Elixir of Frostpower?

yeah two elixirs should be fine. warrs do giants and mongoose all the time. i'm sure rogues do too.
