This is directed to Horde members: What is your view on paladins and us being 'so powerful?' I'm not here to start an argument, a flaming, or debate; I'm just interested in what you think of our healing, but small DPS. Please reply.

For me, the paladin is the most boring class to play and one of the most boring to fight against in PvP. As a paladin, I could kill almost anything, but it took forever to do so. I believe most mobs I fought died of boredom. It is my least favorite class in WoW.

I am indifferent about paladins becoming a Horde class.

Don't get me wrong, the paladin is a very viable class. A well-armored healer that can dish out non-magic damage certainly can be viewed as "powerful". But I got sick of the horribly drawn out fights in EQ, and fighting as or against a WoW paladin is the closest to that kind of boredom. It just isn't for me.

Dah... The fights go pretty quickly for me. I don't see why not to anyone else.

Really, I like playing the paladin a lot. And you can get okay DPS as a pally, so long as you spec right and get nice gear/weapons.

Let's see, I haven't fought more than a handfull of paladins on Horde... Whenever I did, it was somewhat annoying, but possible.

I don't necessarily want to get angry posts, but I want to see the ups and downs of people's views.

He's probably expecting a little more hostility in some cases.

There are already 4 billion threads on this topic...why don't you just read some of them.

Ya know I came to realize that pallys aren't to be played unless you truly have the skill, gear, and right class to handel them. With my 60 hunter all in rare pvp gear. I had to run down a 51 pally from SH gy to IB gy before I got him to drop. Just me and my pet. Wing clips, raptor strikes, aimed shots the whole way. I couldn't believe it took so long on a pally 9 lvls below me. That's when I realized I would never solo with a pally, not on purpose. Not saying it impossible I've beaten a few in my time. But I chose to call it skill and luck in doing so. But I believe other healing types can give them a run for there money easier than I can. My shammy I believe is the pally's toughest opponent. To many times I've found myself having a pally running from me after I matched heal for heal and out dps-ing them. At that goes for the ones that are 3 or 4 lvls above me. And I pray for them all when I get UTF.

Honestly, a shammy will make a tough opponent for a pally, but a mage with a few points in ice will stop a pally in his tracks. Pallys have few ranged attacks, and one of the two is given at lvl 44ish (Hammer of Wrath), so for any fights before 44ish is going to be pretty easy for a mage to win with his only worry are the two shields(divine protection and the party protection one), the movement fixers (insignia of the alliance and blessing of freedom), and consecration. As long as a mage keeps his distance, he will win most of the time.

I've been playing a Pally for some time now, and I cant decide yet, if I think its one of the best classes. But I do think its kewl that as a Paladin you get the good sides of a tank, and a healer. I have spoken

So Gag's Regin of Errorism is dead...right?

But the question is: Who will replace him?

I just want to say thanks, as I'm a noob trolling through the forums here, trying to do some research in order to get situated in this MMORPG. What you just said there helps me a lot, and will definately keep me from playing PLD for the same reasoning. I have a 75 Red Mage in Final Fantasy XI, with all the subjobs. In FFXI, a RDM can solo a lot of things too, but I'm convinced the mobs do die of boredom first because it's the same thing. It's always a war of attrition. You win fights over very long periods of time. I don't think it's fun to kill one monster over a period of three to four hours, but that's me personally. That's one reason I got tired of Red Mage in that game, and got bored of FFXI. Thank you Jantis for keeping me from making the same mistake in another MMORPG.

Just to let you all know Palis suck big time my druid handles them like they were gray mobs. I do belive its cause druids can throw so many D.O.Ts on a pali and do higher end melee and spell damage that even with the pali's bubble and healing they dont stand a chance. poor palis :(

IMHO the Horde view of Pallys will change significantly when they are played in serious numbers.

And there will be just as much hooyee in forums as now, but perhaps also some good insight. I'm looking forward to the discussions on how it will change group dynamics for 10 and 5 man runs, and how the new classes will compliment both factions.

I suspect having a Shaman and Pally in the same run will become a very nice combo for 10 man. Nice cross over in heal + buff + support.

Paladins should fit in nicely with the Horde. It really boils down to the player not the toon.

So... pretty much no one answered the question I had. It was mostly the opposite, or hate mail. Wonderful.
