Just enough to get us hooked and then take it all away.

Well 2(and a half) questions to tide me over...

1) How do the rep rewards work now and are there any additional recipies (specificly jewelcrafting recipies) offered by old factions? (AD, TB, CC, ect...)

2) Have you been on any instances/raids?
2.5) What were they like?

Any and all details would be appreciated. ^^ Ty Ty.

Problem is it takes about 30 mins to convert, upload and post the pics and I'm just too busy =( My last mid-term is tomorrow so I'll be sure to get it done tomorrow afternoon.

I haven't been to any instances yet. I'm going to go check them out this weekend and I'll be sure to screenshot all the drops =)

I will also go check the old vendors. I'm only Honored (or maybe revered) w/ AD but I'll go see what they are offering.

However - 415k exp is bad, but not TOO bad when you figure that you get 500 xp per normal same level kill. Of course - they might have just bumped that up for Beta so we could level faster.

I think the answer to that question could be extrapolated by looking into how much reward you get for turning in quests. It seems to me that if they were to inflate the XP rate /kill to level the testers up to unlock more content it would be a global adjust of kill XP rate that they would be looking to nerf before testing ends and they wouldnt want to go thru all the trouble of also inflating all of the quest xp rewards individualy.

at the above rate that would mean only 831 kills of lvl 60 mobs to get you that 415K to level up. That doesn't seem so bad at all. The question is when you turn in quests are you getting what feels like a higher rate (i know that this is more art than science as you dont have data to compare EXACTLY BC to WOW quests but I beleive you should still be able to feel a shift). For turnin quest where you would expect to get 1K XP if you see that you got 10K XP then we would have strong reason to believe that Blizz just decided to inflate the entire XP system both in rate of gain as well as rate of leveling for whatever reason. If you find that you do a quest that requires 30 kills for 500XP each and turnin the quest to get a whopping 1K XP quest reward then It would support the notion that the kill/xp rate may be a temp buff for you testers that we will not get to experience. If so 60-70 will be a very very very long ride.

I'm downloading a 272 meg patch so I can finish the mount quest and get a pic of it and then I'll upload the pics.

One cool thing I just noticed - there is a trojan scanner built into WoW TBC when you load up =)

Draenei have cloven hooves, tails and horns. Kinda satanic lookin I think. the males are just kinda ugly in my oppinion and the females have some serious set-yer-drink-on-it ghetto booty. Besides this, they have a godly heal over time racial that starts out at level 1 doing about 60 points over 15 seconds on a 3 minute reset timer. this equates to nearly a full heal. my character is now level 12 and it still heals about 75%. I want this on my orc hunter :(

so far though the starting area for them seems decently emersive and flows well.

Yup, their all sitting around waiting for an up-date. I figure the media would never show some computer geek in the Middle East. Their focus is on the Camel Herders and not the general populace. It would be like showing the mule ride at the Grand Canyon and expecting them not to think we don’t ride mules to work. Ok that was a bad analogy with the Amish in Ohio so for any of our Amish members I apologize.

Me thinks Jordy just found out how hard Beta testing is and is up to his a$$ in content. I'd rather him be learning how to play his Class and improving the game than posting content that until the game is fixed for Gamma is just window dressing.

That Orc Nurf is probably his prime focus. After playing the Castrated Orc with a Pally buff and the new equipment and at his skill level he might have found that with out the change an Orc with the new content would be Uber.

I’m figuring he’s looking for a good recipe for Crow. This isn’t a cut down, it is the voice of experience as I’ve found BBQ sauce brings out the flavor of Crow and a little Mesquite added takes out the gaminess. Served on a garlic toasted bun it is a treat in the summer. I’ve already had a helping of it myself today, and next month I’ll post the Thanksgiving recipe, mmm Pumpkin Pie with Crow.

another one about the mating ritual needing 5 sheep, a bag, a gnome and a staff of dominance :/

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but how do you get into the closed beta? From what Jordster says, it seems like you can just download it, but from what I've heard you have to win a competition or something...

seems that there are different ways. mine came from a blizzard employee originally. here is the email I got from a friend who knows the person.

condensed a bit as it's a huge mail

NOTE TO EMPLOYEES: This email contains additional keys
for friends or family members you would like to add to
the Burning Crusade Friends and Family Alpha Test. You
may now invite friends/family members who work for
gaming companies. Please forward this email to the
person you would like to invite. Delete the additional
game keys before forwarding the email, unless you
intend to provide more than one key. Each key can only
be used once. Note that this information is

be participating in the alpha test.
Burning Crusade Friends and Family Alpha Test
Welcome to the Friends and Family Alpha Test of World
of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade.

Thank you for taking the time to help us make The
Burning Crusade the best expansion it can be. We are
excited to finally be able to show our friends and
family what we have been working on all this time. You
are a vital part of the development process; without
your feedback and support it would not be possible to
create and maintain the best and most successful
MMORPG in history.

We are looking to get your feedback on the overall
experience, including quests, spells/abilities,
monsters, zones, aesthetics, and more. We would also
appreciate reports on any bugs you may find.

We have recently opened up Outland and you are able to
copy some of your live characters from the retail game
to our test servers. This will allow you to see
content tailored for characters level 55 and above.
Details on the character copy process are below.

[insert product key and alot of uninteresting things here]

The Friends and Family Alpha Test, as well as the
subsequent beta test phases, are confidential; you
must not share accounts or Burning Crusade-related
information with others not in the program. You have
been invited by a Blizzard employee to test the game
well in advance of its release, and you will have to
agree to a Beta Test Agreement that includes a
non-disclosure obligation to participate in the alpha
and beta test phases. Please take every measure
available to you to ensure the security of your
computer.
You may gift any of the attached game keys to family
members and friends of your choosing. Note that the
game keys that are provided to you hereunder may not
be sold, traded or otherwise transferred for value.
Blizzard employees should remember that they are bound
by an employment non-disclosure agreement. Sharing
information regarding the attached game key,
installer, downloader, or images of the Burning
Crusade outside of the company can subject you to
disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
We have put up a new site for discussing the game at
(REMOVED AS IT WAS STATED IT WAS A PRIVATE FORUM). These are private
forums that only members of the Friends and Family
Alpha Test will be able to access. Employees, aside
from authorized World of Warcraft support personnel,
should not post to these forums. Treat them as you
would any public Blizzard forums.

anyhow. that's how I got in but I hear you could have gotten in by attending some convention as well.
