Woot - We own the other team. Though very few people know this.

Actually, it's a term of celebration whose original meaning is commonly debated. It could be as you say, or a hacker term for "root", or a shortened form of "wow, loot!" Urban Dictionary has some other interesting ideas about it as well:

Funny, I've always pronounced the 'P' in pwn, pwned, pwnt, pwnxxored or what have you.

Any one else pronounce their P's?

PWN = OWN, the P looks like a O to leet kids.

Seriously - Pure Pwnage makes fun of people who say "pown" cause they are such ... well ... nubs! (which by the way, is pronounced N-ew-b, not Nubb)

I pronounce the P just as a joke, not to be taken seriously.

Add a "Savvy?" at the end, and it sounds like something from Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean (which is an MMO in development btw).

L33t should be under leet.

Noob, newb, and drood should be added to list also.

Pally = Paladin
War = warrior
Sham = Shaman
Lock = warlock

those should be added for the people new to WoW or MMO's

oh and WoW and MMO(RPG) should be added also ^^

Simply amazing I read through this entire thread and didnt see DOTs or DKP anywhere.

&btw who made Pure Pwnage the final word on 13375p34k anyway I prefer to pronounce pwned poned and nub noob, so as to seperate them from already existing vernacular.

And just for historical correctness the pronunciation doesnt matter. It was a typo to begin with so the fact that ppl are arguing over it is stupid.

and Woot was around long b4 We owned Other Team was attached to it by CS players, although it is now accepted as the common translation.
