Is there a version of WoWReader for the BC Beta, or does the existing version work? I noticed that items from the test server are in Allakhazam now. I have a character in beta and would like to upload that profile and items. Thanks for your help!

It's not available yet, but I expect to post information on that within the next couple of days. The items so far are just from my testing as I get it ready for release.

WowReader was updated today to add partial support for beta. Profiles aren't working (yet), but we'd appreciate the help collecting other data for the site as we work on getting everything updated. To use it with beta, simply start it up (restart it if you haven't lately, to make sure its updated), go to File->Location menu and browse to your Burning Crusade installation. You should see " [Beta]" in the text area to indicate that it's found it correctly. Thanks.

Still having same problem: "Unable to read data from the transport connection"

WoW Reader loads properly - states 8 profiles awaiting upload

In the chart the LUA data has 375 waiting. When I try to upload it then gives the error and I click "OK" afterwhich 375 have uploaded under the LUA data.

I repeated this process until the LUA had uploaded 15,000. This is NOT working.

Please advise... this has been going on since the last major WoW patch...

Woohoo! Excellent! Thanks very much!

I just tried uploading and it seemed to work for a while and then error off with a Protocol Error 0. It uploaded 314 items out of 1485 waiting. It apparently has quite a backlog to work through.

Huh. Interesting. It looks like it throws an error every 314 items. I got another error at 618, and now at 942. 1256... 1570... The error seems to vary, sometimes it's a protocol error, sometimes it's "Unable to read data from the transport connection."

Although I guess it could just be an error with the 315th item in queue and it's incrementing the "Uploaded" count but not marking the first 314 items as uploaded, so I'm just uploading the first 314 items over and over again. I'll, uh, stop uploading now in case that's what's going on. <whistle>

I've having trouble with the wowreader even starting up. I've been useing it for months and just now when I start it it shows that it is updating and then when it completes the actual box does not come up, I've done some checks and it is running but it does not show up on my desktop, and it is no longer running in my system queue. I just tried reinstalling it and to no avail, it still doesnt want to work.

It looks like one of the items in your upload was tripping a bug in the server. I made some changes and it should (hopefully) be fixed now.

I've been looking into your problem, but I can't find anything specific wrong. Server logs just show you connecting and then timing out. I'm sorry, but I don't have a solution for you at this time.

I don't know what you did but it now loads up fine. Thank you very much!!!

Yup, I just got home and did a full upload from beta with no problems. Thanks for the quick fix!

@ Rale: Hmm...I'm testing beta. But your described method of locating the beta wow.exe does not copy the right UI plugin files to the betafolders. It copies the old toc 11200 files which are then correctly shown as "incompatible" in the WoW Addons selectionscreen.
When I copy the 3 files from your "betaui" folder manually and rename them afterwards, they are accepted by beta. But the next attempted uploading process overwrites the 3 files again with the 11200 toc ones :(

(seems like the updater doesn't recognize the EU Betaclient correctly?)

I don't have a copy of the EU beta client to test with, so that's probably the case. Which language is your beta client? WowReader is currently checking for the directory "Data\<locale>" (thats "Data\enUS" for the US version). Does your client have a similarly named directory?

Is the server still having problems?
Also, is the http://lucy.allakhazam.com/wr/wowreader.exe still the right one for the most recently updated version?
I keep getting the timeout and "Unable to read data from the transport connection" message.
When I went to Download Wowreader and attempted to download I got "There is a temporary network error preventing the download of your file."

I've been trying for a few hours now to download it but still no luck. I just now found the lucy.allakhazam link and it loaded. However I still get the "Unable to read data" message.

Would it be possible to add a feature to allow users to manually update their profiles by putting in updated gear and such? Because having to work with this addon is a royal pain for me.

Just for more info it says 1413 for old items. 8352 for waiting. 185 old quests. 211 waiting. old creatures 1629. waiting creatures 2736. All of those have 0 uploaded. for Lua Data it has n/a for old and waiting 2. Uploaded 10. Profiles, one waiting. No matter how long I wait it seems to keep giving me the same error about timing out and such.

This is especially frustrating because my ISP has a limit on how much data I can send and receive per hour.

@ Rale: I use the enGB client and yes there is a similiar dir called: "Data\enGB"

This don't work for me... =(
I started WoW reader, then I upload and went to options>login and logged on my Allakhazam account, but then it kept saying waiting on the down left corner no matter how long I waited, so I decided to click the WoW icon in the program and it started WoW. I logged on my account and quitted clicked refresh and upload but nothing happened.

What to do?

I think I posted this somewhere else by accident.. oops.

I play WoW on a Chinese server using the American client (I live in China). WoWreader installs fine and runs fine but won't upload my profiles. I have lots of "old" items but none "uploaded". I am cerain I have done everything according to the instructions, including making sure the add-on is running in-game.

Is this a geography issue, or is there something else I am missing?

Logged in , uploaded all profiles - tried to see / test them , didn't see anything.
In Mozilla would get

Warning: Unknown property 'behavior'. Declaration dropped.
Source File: http://wow.allakhazam.com/profile/profile-style2.4.css

same would be few times for othe lines

Using newest Firefox and IE . Tested with both (plus with opera).
Couldn't see any profile i have.

Sorry to write here but you say:

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application."

- Fix this by installing the newest version of .NET

I tried to install this link, but then I get a warning that I cant install the Service pack because of 'something' missing of the application. I tried to install the .NET (dotnetfx.exe) but I get again a warning..

Do I miss something here? Yeah sure! but I have no idea of what. I tried to do a search before bugging here but Im not a premium...

Ok, no double posting :)
I did the manual upload, and that worked just fine. (at least for my secondary character, becasue the main char was on hold for 36 hours.. ) So if you don't have time... forget about it. :-)
