WoW reader used to work great till a few months ago. Now every time I try to upload says the target machine activley refused it. Yes, I have an account, Yes I have it saved on WoW reader, Yes I have updated it, Yes I have tried it on multiple machines, Yes I have verified my account works (been member forever).

Thanks
Myles

Yes, European servers need an update due to the minipatch on Wednesday to the Spanish version. This was deployed over all European servers, Spanish or not, and is what seems to be causing the checksum error failure.

Hi,

It's the first time I try to use Wowreader and I have an error with the download of patch.xml
First message: Error downloading update: Unable to connect to the remote server.
Second message: Version check failed (expected 5875, got 6005)... Wait for a new version to appear... check for updates later. (I think the exact content of the message is useless as it is surely directly linked to the previous message)
Here is the patch log:

Patch log - 14/10/2006 17:35:11
Executable: wowreader.exe, 1.0.2461.38668
Application Directory: C:\Program Files\WowReader
OS: Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1
Runtime: v2.0.50727
Runtime Directory: C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\

DownloadFile: patch.xml (patch)
DownloadFile: Current Proxy Address Setting:
DownloadFile: Unable to connect to the remote server
finished

I tried several times to be sure it wasn't just a small connection issue.
My firewall allows full access to the internet for the wowreader and I don't have any proxy configured.
Has anybody any idea regarding this problem?

problem is, that there was an unnecessary update installed on ALL European servers , instead of just the Spanish.
WoWreader doesn't work on this patched version of WoW, so we just need to wait for a new patch of WoWreader :)

Hi there at allakhazam! :-)

Thank you for an incredible wow website!!! Is there any place on this website, where I can see, when the wowreader is updated or when it will be updated? (the current is outdated)

Just to let you know I have been getting the "unable to read data from the transport connection" error since beginning of October. Have tried reinstalling add on but still the same.
What has happened ?
It has been working reliably for months and then all of a sudden...Ooops. Nothing has changed on my pc or my wow install, ISP service is the same. I can only think that something has gone awry 'your end'?
I don't think I am the only one either.
#441 Oct 17 2006 at 7:30 AM Rating: Decent

I keep getting a similar error as well. Not quite sure what to do? Any ideas?

Hi,
It's nice to see that things are changing a bit.
I still get an error but it's a new one :)
Here is the new message:
Error downloading update: The remote name could not be resolved: 'db.allakhazam.com'

After pressing the OK button of the error dialog box, the progress bar of the window called "updater" is at 100% but nothing happens.

Here is the patch log:

Everything works fine but when I go to the Character page it still tells me to download it. I read in the thread to log off and log back in. But how do I double-check that the UI Addon portion is loading correctly by using the /wver command?!?!
#444 Oct 18 2006 at 6:07 PM Rating: Decent
Ok! When I ran WoWReader today it 'appeared' to have downloaded some type of update to wowreader.exe ?? I don't know if you all made that happen or not, but it looked like something I don't recall seeing before on startup. Then it went though the patch updater like it always does.

I was keeping my fingers crossed ... lots of hope ... unfortunately, nothing has changed for me with the end result.

Here are my logs again: I'll keep trying from time to time. I miss using that website option. :-)

Quote:
"Please set Registry Key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\.NETFramework\InstallRoot to point to the .NET Framework installation location"

Anybody know what this means and how I can fix it??
