Good guide.
All I learned about WSG I learned as a horde on PvP server.
But, the horde do not have to worry about the alliance in WSG, especially in a PvE realm.
Why?
Because the folks I've met are resistant to change. They seem to love losing, cuz they enter again and again and again with the same losing tactics.. thinking somehow what didn't work before will work now.
I did three painful WSG battles the other day. Three because we didn't win, and I wanted 3 tokens to turn in, before, (I was determined!) I gave up on WSG altogether.
First off... how many WSG participants does it take to form a raid?
Answer: none.. folks will stand there and shout 'invite' ad nauseum. And, if you DARE to start, be prepared for others to demand leader status... like that matters. The concept of promoting folks so more than the leader can send an invite is also unheard of. And, how can you get to level THIRTY-SEVEN and not know how to turn a party into a raid?
When I suggested we NOT keep SIX folks IN THE FLAGROOM, and that some move to mid-field I was told the horde were too strong, and 6 were needed to 'defend'.
There was no allowance for the midfield. 6 turtles in flag room, 3 hotshots going for the flag.
I was told 'It's capture the flag! not capture the mid-field'
Sigh
Quotes that annoy
(from Hunter) You mean you want me to stay near the flag room? I won't get any kills in the flag room. I want to capture the horde flag.
(from Mage) You mean you want me to defend in midfield? I will get killed in midfield. I want to stay in the tunnel.
(from Druid) Waddya mean I should help in healing the flag carrier? I am not resto spec'd!
(from Rogue) Where the f**k was my heal? How can I steal the flag w/o healing. (Note to all flag carriers. Learn from the priest, who moves TOWARD the tank if s/he is aggro'd. If your priest is behind you and you won't make it back to base without a heal.. STOP running. Heals have a range, and cannot be cast while running.)
And I'm not gonna get into the 'wisdom' behind the decision to pass the flag to the MAGE so that the warrior, rogue, and druid could try and steal back the alliance flag. (Yep! give the flag to a squishy).
The worst thing is, people simply do not understand PvP ranking. As in, you get MORE honor if you work together and win the battle. The hotshots who want to be at the top of the chart after the battle have no clue. And, don't assume I don't know what I am doing if after the battle you see me in the bottom half... I am priest. I am squishy target number one. And I intend to continue to try and route the horde in the BG's.
