I'm going to go ahead and reply to parts of a private message publicly, as there have been similar public messages that have perhaps been addressed briefly, or perhaps ignored.

First off, do these mods still actually work in game or has Blizzard stopped it from working yet?
The mods I'm using still work in game. The claim (which I haven't verified... perhaps this was information to one specific computer (and perhaps, or perhaps not, due to some other add-on/mod)) that 1.8 Test don't support the addons and so 1.8 probably won't is countered by another statement that apparently it's been found that these mods have been known to not work with test versions.

could I ask a request of you to swap a couple of my dagger models/textures to one in particular weapon texture/model? Since you understand how to do all this and I don't I think you'd be able to whip this off no problem. :)
Yeah, I think I have the basics on how to do this. My own batch file, for example, replaces some male character models with their female counterparts. What this entails is extracting the model you want to use, and placing the file in a specific location with a different filename (named after the filename used by the object you want to replace). The tricky part, though, is finding out what files are being used. To do that, one must look through the World of WarCraft data files. Now, for what I did, it was simple enough to see that the filenames I wanted were to extract Character\NightElf\Female\NightElfFemale.M2 from model.mpq and rename it to Data\Character\NightElf\Male\NightElfMale.M2 in WoW's data directory. However...

All I'd like to do is make the two daggers I have look like the very cool looking sword Thunderfury: Blessed Blade of the Windseeker. I think carrying two huge swords around would be super awesome. :D
What you're asking for might sound similar and therefore easy, but it's really not (and that's why people aren't rushing to help with such requests). Here's why:
This requires knowing three things (or two, if your daggers are the same): The names of the model files used by each of your two daggers, and also the name of the model file used by the Thunderfury: Blessed Blade of the Windseeker. (Note that these "files" are originally just entries within the model.mpq file, or perhaps another one like patch-2.mpq... just like files are often originally distributed as being entries within another archive format like a zip file). Finding these files could be quite complicated, because it might not be named quite so obviously. What I wanted was clear when I found NightElfFemale.m2. What you're looking for could be one of the six one-handed short glaves, or one of the 26 knives, or one of the fourty-five different one-handed swords. Adding to the complication is that theoretically the game could be using a two-handed sword that is just shrunk. Furthermore, even if you use a utility program (which I didn't, so I don't know what exactly to recommend) to view the item models, they are likely to be rendered to only show you their basic shape. You won't see the textures (the colors of the item), and if it glows or has fire or whatever, that likely won't show up either. Finally, if you change the model for one item, you'll change the model for any other items that use that same model. Many weapons will use the same model as other weapons, and are made unique because of their texture, attributes (like glowing), or perhaps size. If you change a cool knife to look like a broadsword, the junky knives that enemies use might also change.
If you do go through the effort and manage to find the right file for one of the three items you're working with, you've got to do this with the other items too. (If they are in fact just the same model but with different effects applied to the game, there is nothing you can change.)
Once you change the model, you might find you have troubles with the textures. Also, if you change the size of a humanoid, things like glasses might not line up with their head perfectly.
With all that said, if you can tell me what models to use, I can easily tell you where to put the file. I might even be able to help do this for you if you're not successful yourself. However, this means I've leaving the hard part to you: Finding out what models are used by what items. Unique items, like a Succubus pet, will be far easier to locate for copying than items that are much less unique, like weapons.
Finally, I don't know much about what is calculated by client and what by server. If you make your daggers get replaced with swords, I'm not sure if that might cause your daggers to get some other properties that swords do: Maybe it will swing slower, or more likely, have a longer range. When I replace a male with a female model, the male does gain the female's dance movements. If this gives you any edge in battle against other people or against monsters, it is considered game-impacting cheating and definitely something that Blizzard would ban your account over if they detected it at all.
(And to those who think I like to sound "educated" just by writing a lot in an argument: As this post shows, I sometimes just write a lot. (Also, I've had people point this out in my spoken speech. 'tis just how I talk.) I haven't been posting lately since A) There hasn't been much on-topic news, B) I still haven't received a copy-and-paste of my most recent batch file, so I am just left to guess that people using it are not having trouble, and C) I decided I'd rather lose an argument I don't care about than participate and prolong. Would still be nice if B) changed, though. Or A).)
