Lost my character's underpants (really)Follow

I tried that BAT out, but there's a few problems with this method. I'm not sure if it's because of all the *_U.blp files you left uncleared or something else, but pretty much nothing disappeared on anyone just standing around IF or Org. Also, a few people disappeared entirely, leaving nothing but circular shadows moving around on the ground. Even some of the default new character clothing was still showing. I tried copying the clear texture to all clothing texture files but that resulted in awful robe-flesh effects on the character select screen and almost everyone in game disappeared to small round shadows.

You could play around a long time trying to get a file list that works just right with this and even then it'll all go to waste when a patch shakes up the files you need.

(Edit: Be sure to get the latest version, as of this writing the current directions for doing this are described on my first post on page 12. The problems described in this post relate to an older version of the patch that directed people to using a data file in an older file format than what WoW works better with.)

Thanks for the report CrashCat. Again, I'll point out that I posted this early before testing it heavily, so others could benefit since preliminary testing indicated it worked. I still say this does work... somewhat, but with further testing I agree there are issues.

From what I can tell, it seems to me that WoW might have some troubles rendering most players that have a texture that is modified. I noticed a circular shadow moving on the ground in IF as you reported, which I'm glad you pointed out. I'm guessing was a female player that was moving around, and she was invisible to me. Once, I even saw a Snowshoe Rabbit pet chasing a shadow. In Ironforge, I noticed a large proportion of males, and what female players I did notice were wearing Tabards. (Since the female player names weren't showing up either, unless a shadow was spotted, there was no way to tell the females were invisible as there wasn't any indication that they were there.) I also could not see myself, to such an extent that even when I hop on a gryphon, the gryphon is also invisible. Me being invisible is something that occured whenever I logged my character onto a server: That is, I noticed this when I selected a character from the character select screen, or when I left the Tram. I could fix this at any time by pressing C to view my character: This would make my character (and the gryphon I was riding) visible.

In Ironforge, I found a female hunter by seeing a pet near a shadow and the pet had a name saying who it belonged to. I partied with the female hunter, and her icon did not show their picture. Although I could not click on her in order to target her, I was able to click on her portrait since she was in my party. I was then able to Inspect her, and she became visible. See Exhibit A for screenshot. Also, sometime earlier I had noticed a topless female player running around Elynn Forest, see exhibit B for screenshot. She was clearly visible without the need to inspect her first.

In conclusion, I agree this has some problems: Other players with a modified texture becomes invisible and may be extremely difficult (gotta party with them and inspect them after you enter/leave instance) to view. At very least, though, it does let you see your own character and create screenshots.

I'm not offhand seeing that as being any more likely than a patch disrupting any of the other work being done here.

I need some help :). I have changed textures and models so my Troll Male looks like a Night Elf Female...and i used Sandraes textures, but the breasts doesnt show...theres just skin.

So i tried the the textures with a real night elf female and then it worked...and then i noticed that Males didnt have any NakedTorso textures, is there something i can do so WoW will use Sandraes textures on my Troll Male?

Like some command that enables NakedTorso Textures to be loaded for a Troll Male? :)

Try to modify the base skin for the nightelf female (or the modified troll base, as the case may be). Just copy/paste the modified skin onto its location on the base skin.

Anyone know how i can change the textures on a robe? i managed to change the upper parts...but the loose part of the robe, bellow the waist (dont know what its called in english), how do i change that?

Hmm... no reason to edit the MPQ's. Just add some transparent textures so you still have the original MPQ's. But what about all the problems reported above? They've been FIXED.

Snag the newer zip file that works better. (Grab the one that is over 10K, not the one under 8½K.) (Edit: Actually, just be sure to get the latest version, as of this writing the current directions for doing this are described on my first post on page 12.)

The old batch file in fact worked perfectly, the problem seems to be that file using the BLP file format was being used, when instead a BLP2 file format (which still uses the same .blp file extention) should have been used. The new zip file includes a better BLP2 file. Also, I put some time into the batch file to make it easier for those who aren't command line experts. If you know how to unzip a file and copy a file then you'll probably be okay.

After this batch file runs successfully, you could just take one of the *.blp's this batch file copied, and copy it over the underwear testures. The only reason this file doesn't do that is since I know some people have textures stored there that they don't want overwritten.

KenjiTehKitteh, what I was saying was, can't he just pick a non-0 (like 3) hairstyle to get hair back on his converted character? Also if I convert (say) Undead to Gnome, does that mean I am limited to Undead or Gnome hairstyles? I haven't had time to really test it (I like being Forsaken), but I thought if I turned my Forsaken into a human I'd have to use the Forsaken hair, but what you are saying is I'd have to use Human hair right? You could still pick a new hairstyle though by changing the (in the case) 0 to a 3 right?

Keep dreaming. Those nipples are way too high up on the breasts to look right to someone who sees their own every day. I'd lower them a touch to keep it a little more real.

TOOGAM I tried your bat program and it doesn't seem to be working for me. I got the converter utility in the directory with it, it creates the .blp file, then gives me this message:

All tests passed

It doesn't do anything else. Any reason for this? Perhaps I'm not using it correctly?
