WowReader Issues and HelpFollow

#452 Jan 07 2006 at 11:07 AM Rating: Decent
Slight problem (Probably easily fixed) but -

When I run WoW reader, (Updated just) it shows me as having no data to upload.

Recently got Ony trinket and Spineshatter (and now 3 more might pieces and wrath legplates, joy =D) on my warrior so.. would be nice if it recognised I had some data to upload instead of being perma stuck with sword of zeal. :)

A couple days ago (but since the patch), WowReader started timing out while "Sending price data..." and giving me an "Unable to read data from the transport connection." error. It usually takes about 10 seconds to get the error. I think this is the same error that wwdragon reported a page or two back.

I uninstalled and reinstalled WowReader and the problem cleared up, but now it's doing it again. Obviously this means that reinstalling isn't going to cut it if I have to do it every couple of days. What's most frustrating is that it's not sending my character profile info before the price data, and is thus preventing my character data from being updated on Allakhazam.

Deleting my wowreader.db2 file doesn't seem to clear it up either.

Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help track down the cause of this issue.

I am having that same error "Unable to read data from the transport connection.", and it also happens for me while sending price data.

I don't know if it's related, but I just downloaded and started using Auctioneer so there's a lot more price data for me than there used to be.

Did you follow the instructions in the first post of this thread to make sure the addon was loading in game?

It seems something is slowing down on price uploads on the server sometimes. I'm still looking into fixing it, but in the mean time I've changed it so profiles will upload before prices, so the impact should be lessened a bit.

The program works fine until i attempt to upload, when i get a "Connection Error:The requested name was valid and found in the database, but it does not have the correct associated data being resolved for." anyone know how to make this work?

I did.. didn't help then but it works now, no apparent reason.. Worked for a while, stopped workng for a couple days, then poof.

It seems that the effects from the Zul'Gurub enchant for warriors is not shown in the list from Search profiles. It is shown in the regular profile though. I know the search profiles list takes a while to update, but stats from other gear has been updated, but stamina and health has not been updated in the search list.

Profile: http://wow.allakhazam.com/profile.html?730657
Search list: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/psearch.html?race=Human&class=Warrior&server=Arathor&lvlcomp=eq&lvl=60&orderby=Hp&search=1

100 less health and 10 less stamina in the search list.

WoW reader attempted to patch this morning. Is there a patch going out?

I had already updated to 1.9 and patched the reader as well. I had used it several times to log in.

At 8:40 am pst this morning when I tried it attempted to download another patch.

I can upload my Items, Quests & Creatures -- but the LUA data doesn't update -- that line just says "(n/a) 0 0" after upload.
As you can see when you look at the charater profile, it doesn't show the toon: http://wow.allakhazam.com/profile.html?722114

Any ideas?

I have the "looping updater" problem too. I've read this entire thread and tried everything suggested. I've re-installed wow reader 3 times (even made sure to delete any leftover files), updated .NET to SP1, downloaded the wowreader.exe as suggested and disabled my firewall and still the same problem.

The problem should be fixed now.

Vassa:
Yeah, there was an update for the change I mentioned a few posts above.

langod:
I see the profile you linked as having been updated today, is there still something wrong?

ChromeGadget:
Try rebooting (to make sure no copies are running in the background), then downloading a fresh copy of the installer and reinstalling with that. If the problem still persists, let me know

Still no joy. Tried rebooting & reinstalling more than once but it remains the same.

:(

It may be worth mentioning that I only started using Wowreader a few days ago (Friday I believe) and it worked fine the first day I used it.

I'm still having timeout issues on and off, but I'm sure you're aware of this. Also, I noticed that my character's toon is not updating for some reason: http://wow.allakhazam.com/profile.html?723168

I have been seeing the same thing, my main character has not been updating yet others have been. Is something wrong? I just used WoWReader like I always have. Nothing different.

If my character was deleted via the website (view chearacter hit delete), how do I get it back?

Thanks!

I've just started using Wowreader, but it already asks for an update: "expected 4983, got 4996".
Is this due to the 1.9.2 wow patch?

I think it is due the patch yes.

I also am having problems with LUA files, there are over 3000 to upload and it keeps giving me that connection problem, it says that it is connected when trying to upload and then it appears to get stuck and gives me this error message:

'Unable to read data from the transport connection'

It is only with the LUA files when uploading, any thought as to what might be happening or how to fix it?
