I've tried duplicating your problem by having wow only installed on a second drive, and didn't get any error. Can you go into regedit and check the value of the key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WowReader\wowdir"? It should help me track down the problem.
That key is present, but is empty. (no data at all).
Manually editing the value to E:\World of Warcraft\ results in correct program operation.
For some reason, WowReader just doesn't want to set that on its own on my system, even though I select the directory in the File|Location menu..
EDIT: I did manage to get it to upload (after realizing I'd changed my password since installing it). It said it uploaded everything, and it's all moved over to the 'old' column - but no character profile on the website.
EDIT AGAIN: Ok, profile showed up with the latest upload I did... the first one didn't seem to take, but it's there now.
