Issue this morning. Unable to download ??patch??.xml, connection was actively refused. After receiving the error when launching the app I could see the queued update, but if I hit Update I'd get a message that the server "Actively refused" me. @work don't have the message in front of me, but will update this if it's still an issue tonight.

My profiles are blank. It used to work fine. Upon /wver ingame i get the message that WoWreader 1.52 has been loaded.
OS: WinXP
Client: English
Server: Aggramar (English)

Char Anathema:
Race: Night elf
Class: druid
profile: wow.allakhazam.com/profile.html?85661

Char Crais:
Race: Human
Class: warlock
profile: wow.allakhazam.com/profile.html?85674

I also noticed something:
Quote:
Hi,

I can't upload a char: http://wow.allakhazam.com/profile.html?76158
(realm: Gul'Dan; guild: Portalwächter; name: Rahja)
But I can upload another on the same realm _without_ a guild with umlauts inside: http://wow.allakhazam.com/profile.html?78249

greetings, Till

According to this quote, there was/is something wrong with the fist profile, but not the second. However, the first profile in the quote shows fine when I click on it, but the second gives a blank profile, just like my profiles :/
Any idea's or suggestions are welcome

Same problem for me. I even tried different browsers, but don't get more than the "about" note.

I'd like to know what is going on as well. Besides this, the site itself is slow & search functions are pulling up page errors, etc.

Oh, I was starting to think I was the only one getting errors and stuff. Heh.

when I try and use WoWReader anymore, it tells me

"Error during SavedVariables search using base 'C:\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\': Could not find a part of the path "C:\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account".

I have no idea why it is doing this, I have been using WoWReader for months successfully.

I tried to delete WTF and have it re-load, but that has not done anything to fix this issue.

wowreader appears to have corrupted my lua file causing me to lose alot of custom settings in my UI. i backup my lua nightly but the problem was it appears to have corrupted AFTER i logged out. i backed up after logging out thinking it was fine, then logged in this morning and wowreader crashed and gave some error. i then logged into the game and my settings were wiped.

i opened up my savedvariables and the wowreader section was garbed with ascii characters. i couldn't restore so i had to redo all my custom settings again. major pain in the ***.

So is Wowreader officially dead? Seems it hasn't worked right in 5 months, and with no feedback officially, I can only assume that's the case, too bad, it was kind of a cool utility for sharing eqp/stats/setups.

I was able to download, install, and run it, even upload, but my profile didn't update. Go figure.

ATM all programmers are at work trying to get the rest of the sites up and working. Wowreader will be attended to as soon as humanly possible. Thanks for your understanding.

I wrote a few posts back that all my profiles were blank. Well they're working normally again. I don't know what you've changed, but it worked :)

Does WoW reader only work on Windows? I have an ibook. I downloaded it and it does not work.

I hate to repeat what appears to be a semi-frequent request, but maybe showing interest in it will help it become a reality. A mac ver of WoWreader would be very nice. I'd love to help make it a reality in any way I can. Please let me know if I can aid a mac version of the project(I know a few mac programers that are also big WoW fans). Thanks

Hi, was wondering how WOWreader gets price data. Does it do it just from auction house search results? That method is not awful, but is can be inaccurate since those are just advertised prices, not completed sales.

An alternative method is to collect data only from completed sales. Capture the data when the successful seller checks his mailbox--you can get the item and the exact sale price at that moment. This is the method that WOWEcon.com is advertising.

Thanks!

I seem to be having the same problem. What is the problem? I like having this utility and WOWRankings too. I used them both.

After doing some digging, I found that this error is probably due to a bug in earlier versions of .NET. Its supposed to be fixed in 1.1 SP1, which you can download from microsoft here. Let me know if this helps or not.

Yes, it uses auction house search data, with the idea being that the mass amount of price data found that way, inaccuracies would just be rounded out after a while.
