Ever since the patch it won't work. It says everything uploads and it all seems to be in working order, except nothing on my profile updates.

Been this way for a few days (since the patch it seems). So... what should I do to fix it? I deleted it and re-installed, the whole works, it still won't refelct my new stats and/or gear.

If your profile stopped updating since the patch, make sure the in-game portion is still being loaded by using /wver. If you dont get a message saying what version is running, you'll have to use the ui addons button at character select and make sure its not disabled there.

For the EU version, only profiles can be uploaded at the moment, due to some problems with detecting the actual language of the client, as opposed to just checking NA or EU.

>> I also want to ask if its intentional to download a patch.xml each time Wowreader is started?

Yes, thats how it checks if theres an update available.

Thanks rale for the detailed answer.
Are there any plans on adding EU Server support?
For now, I will just upload my char profile only, which is great.
Hope you keep up the good work, this site is imho more useful than th***bot.com :)

This is not a bug or anything of that nature, but is there a way we could have wr save the data for all chars that way when I go to upload new stats for my chars I dont have to log in and out of each of them. I am not sure what I am suggesting is a mass upload but maybe a drop down where you can sollect which one you want to upload.

Still unable to download patch.xml.
It's still grabbing an html file from my ISP instead.
Is anybody looking into why it might be doing this?

Hi,

I can't upload a char: http://wow.allakhazam.com/profile.html?76158
(realm: Gul'Dan; guild: Portalwächter; name: Rahja)
But I can upload another on the same realm _without_ a guild with umlauts inside: http://wow.allakhazam.com/profile.html?78249

greetings, Till

I play WoW exclusively on my Mac. Been a Premium subscriber for over a year first mainly for EQ and now primarily for WoW content. I've beta tested many games and some applications for MS. I'd be happy to beta any WoW reader in development for the Mac.

Hope that a Mac version is coming soon.

I have tried to upload my char info it tells me it is then says I have wrong password, where do I do the pw update or check that I have the right pw?
#285 Mar 31 2005 at 1:06 AM Rating: Decent
dont try to upload after playing with another char.

When i play with "charA" and then play "charB" it will not upload my main c"harA."

I have to make sure to logout of the game en upload to allakhazan BEFORE loading another char, otherwise it doesnt work for me.

same problem here ... it seems to refuse working with "ü" "ä" "ö"

then you get a blank profile.

I need to know race and class for characters that still produce blank profiles. Its not related to guild name, just the translating of race/class names to english.

suaimhneas: Your problem is probably a misconfigured proxy setting somewhere. Check in internet options, under connections tab, then LAN settings, and make sure you dont have something there you shouldnt.

Hi, my profile is always blank (just char name and gild name are shown).
Playing on EU-Gilneas (german client, german realm)
Class: Priester
Race: Mensch
Profile: http://wow.allakhazam.com/profile.html?75467

The profile from an alt char was once shown correctly and that was with a german "Umlaut" in the name lol...Umlaut was "ae"

Hi,

my profile (Darkchylde) is blank, too. I´m using the german client on a german server (Aegwynn).

In my savedvariables.lua stands the following:

["class"] = "Schurke",
["race"] = "Untoter",

Translation would be Rogue als class and Undead as race.

Strange thing, I started a new character today, same server, same client, but instead of a undead rogue I started an troll priest. Without wanting it, I uploaded his profile and this profile works fine... Name is Darkus.

Skinnyman: I made some changes to the updater today which I think should help. You may have to redownload the installer and reinstall to get the latest version for now, tho.

I have this same problem, and uninstalling/reinstalling using whatever the latest files are is not working. Here's the log of what the program is trying to do:

GetBinaryCallback: Error renaming C:\PROGRAM FILES\WOWREADER\_wowreader.exe to C:\PROGRAM FILES\WOWREADER\_wowreader.exe.old: Access to the path "C:\PROGRAM FILES\WOWREADER\_wowreader.exe.old" is denied.

As you can see, everything works fine up until the program tries to rename the file that it recently started running - which we all know is impossible... For whatever reason, it starts _wowreader.exe after creating it, then tries to rename itself. If there is no need for an update, why go through the steps?

Also, it's been hanging until I click somewhere on the screen - it does the first update check, then when it's done, does another one that ends in the error. It won't do the second check until I click somewhere on the desktop.

Edit: correction - it will do it without the clicks, it just takes a really long time.

Hope that's enough info to get it fixed.

I just tried another fix for the win98 patcher bug. The installer is also updated to match once again. If this patch doesnt help, or actually, even if it does help, please PM me a copy of patch.log with the new version. Something strange is happening, and I'm still not entirely sure why.

The patch yesterday should've fixed german profiles for humans and undead, is anyone still having problems there?

This application has encountered a critical error:

ERROR #0 (0x85100000)
Program: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WoW.exe
File: C:\build\buildWoW\WoW\Source\Client.cpp
Line: 1482
Expr: "!"Failed to open archive"", path = "..\Data\model.MPQ"

WoWBuild: 4297

this is what i get if i click the (W) icon in wowreader to launch warcraft. happens everytime, ive deleted the folder and reinstalled wowreader, same thing. if i run wow.exe manually wr addon works fine and updates fine, just kinda annoying to run wow.exe manually insted of clicking on wowreaders launcher. This started since the 1.3.1 patch.

I assume wowreader is a combination of reading your savedvariables.lua file, and a ingame addon to gather much more data (to be saved). What exactly is gathered by the wowreader addon and is the source code available for the wowreader.executable?

Great, for me it works now with a german client playing a human (Mensch) char. Good job, thumbs up m8

My character profile lists an incorrect amount of mana, due to an incorrect amount of INT being recorded. I'm a gnome mage, so I'm assuming that WoWReader isn't calculating the Expansive Mind racial bonus (+5% bonus to INT).

Recently my Wowreader has stopped uploading my profiles. I have 3 old profiles and 2 new ones, and none of them upload. The data listed on this site has the old informtion from my 3 old profiles; whereas the 2 new ones do not exsist. When I bring up Wowreader, its says "Profile: none waiting" or something along those lines. I know a few others having this problem, but have not heard of any fixes. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing, as well as re-entering my login information. Any ideas of how to fix this?
