I have this same problem, and uninstalling/reinstalling using whatever the latest files are is not working. Here's the log of what the program is trying to do:

As you can see, everything works fine up until the program tries to rename the file that it recently started running - which we all know is impossible... For whatever reason, it starts _wowreader.exe after creating it, then tries to rename itself. If there is no need for an update, why go through the steps?
Also, it's been hanging until I click somewhere on the screen - it does the first update check, then when it's done, does another one that ends in the error. It won't do the second check until I click somewhere on the desktop.
Edit: correction - it
will do it without the clicks, it just takes a really long time.
Hope that's enough info to get it fixed.
