Not to be overly critical as I imagine most of this is in jest and I too spend a fair amount of times playing games. But just remember. WoW won't visit you in the hospital when you break a leg. WoW will never cook you dinner or just wash the dishes so you can play more WoW. WoW no mater how pixilatedly perfect will warm your bed at night or fill those needs we all feel.
I would never ignore a mate for a game, of course with a gamer mate it is just a matter of making time away from the PC/Console to be together. I would never ignore a child for a game, once again it is usually a matter of fighting the kid for the PC but still there are times when my loved ones need me more then my guild or my level x character.
Of course the great thing about companions and kids is one needs not neglect food to play since there is always someone on rotation to cook meals, clean dishes, laundry. . . All in all life treats you well if you don't neglect it and oddly a well treated life gives one more time to enjoy games, then a neglected one.
