Anyone know the location of the closest skinning trainer that a new night elf will have access to? I heard that you also have to be level 5 to train apprentice trade skills. Is that true for all trades or a select few?

all skills require level 5, but you should be that before you even leave the newb zone. skinning trainer in teldrassil is along the road to darnassus from doloran.

You’ll hit level five rather quickly, even if you’ve never played the game before. So you can take up an apprentice profession or two fairly early. You’ll need to be level ten to advance to journeyman, but that won’t be too painful either. Level twenty, and expert craftsman, will take longer. But the journey is sure to be a lot of fun.

Follow the road out of the starting area until you get to your first town. You can then ask a guard and they will flag it on the map for you. It is further down the road than off to the north a little.

The skinning trainer is outside the house and the leathercraft trainer is inside the house.

Remember, if you pick both of them (I am), those are your two main tradeskills. You can only add fishing, cooking and first aid.

Actually i could get it before level 5, not leatherworking though that one did require me to get lv5 first. Closest one is on a hut on the road to darnassus, almost at darnassus actually, second closest is at darnassus.

I trained skinning on a level 3 char, but leatherworking required level 5 so I went out and gained 2 levels real fast and came back ready to work some leather. ;)
