Graphics: 9.5
In my opinion, the environments are absolutely beautiful. I honestly feel they could not have done better with the environment. The enemies even look really nice! The character models are not as good, but there is so much variety amongst them I do not mind all that much. I love the way spellcasting and summoning looks (I was a Warlock in the beta), and sometimes would cast things just to look at myself doing it...
Gameplay: 10
Gameplay is relatively flawless. Battle was quick and relatively seemless. The lack of real loading zones makes me want to hug every single person at Blizzard. I believe the ability to do this and make the game look/function as nicely as it does is truly admirable. Crafting was totally awesome! I picked Alchemy and Herbalism, and had a blast doing it. In other games, it would be boring exploring a world looking for herbs to use for Alchemy, but that was some of the most fun I had! Also, nothing beats the awesomeness of having your summon tank an aggroing beast while you continue to pick the herbs you want. ^^ Also, I'd never thought a game could make doing quests so fun-or easy. It makes you actually want to immerse yourself more in the story and explore. It's REALLY nice.
Sound: 9
The music is awesome, I just wish I could hear it more at times. Honestly, that's my only complaint there. I got chills from the music every time I entered Stormwind. ^^
Interface and control: 9.5
I hesitated on giving a perfect 10 simply because it annoyed me to have to use the mouse to change camera angles. It's a small gripe, but it is one, nonetheless. The interface is awesome and the UI is great, too. My only issue with the UI is as a spellcaster it makes things difficult as by level 10 I already had to put some spells/items (such as a healthstone or potions) on a lower set of macros; and I wish I could access them more easily in battle. That is all, though. I'm sure these are things that could perhaps be fixed with customizable UIs and patches. Seriously, these are nitpicky complaints as otherwise everything was really great. I love the ability to have multiple windows open at once, and the little map in the top right corner that has icons of party members/pets/herbs to pick etc. made everything much easier, thus making you focus on other aspects of the game more.
Fun Factor: 10!!
By far this game's strongest strength. It appears as if Blizzard focused on making the game easy to play without stupid annoyances with awesome overall gameplay to totally make this the most fun MMO out there. No matter what you're doiung, it's fun. Levelling solo is fun. Levelling with friends is fun. Quests are fun. Crafting and gathering is fun. Exploring is fun. Dying and exploring while dead is fun. Dueling with other people and friends is fun. Running around naked, jumping around onto things, and having your character dance is fun. Being annhilated by Dreadlords, resurrecting yourself, and going after them again anyway is fun. Just so much fun, fun, fun that never gets old.
Final comments:
I loved this game so much for the very, very small time I played it. Blizzard, even just judging from the beta, has created a masterpiece that just could become the so-called "EQ killer". As evidenced by the refugees (such as myself), it's already fairly quickly become the FFXI killer (amongst North Americans, anyway.)
