This came as a surprise:
"Realm is full. Place in Queue: 9 ETA: 9 mins"

Did anyone know they were doing this, or is it something
they threw together? Better than having too much lag, but
I'm hoping not to see that message on retail.

What do you guys think?

Take Care,
Cherreia.

I'm hoping this is something thats only going on in the Beta. I had to wait 45 FREAKING MINS last night to log onto server 25 (I was 245th in line) .. I understand that the other servers were down and people were trying to change to the open servers, but that was a little extreme. Hopefully players wont be able to switch servers when the retail comes out, so Blizzard can do a better job of making sure theres enough room for all the registered players.

They had just implemented new server fixes and they lowered the player cap on every server so they could see how it works without people getting impatient and overloading the server. Thats the main cause of lag is when one server goes down all those players jump to another, overload it and bring it down.

Don't feel bad Decsr. The line for Test 4 was over 1200 people when I tried to log in.

The idea, as far as I can tell, is to keep server population at a certain point. Have you noticed a significant decrease in lag? I have. Servers lag when people flood a server. Queues prevent floods.
