I got a lvl 15 warlock right now I enjoy him and his solo ability allot but I am starting to get interested in hunters. Has anyone played both classes and if so how do they compare as far as being able to solo?

All classes can solo well heh. Only problem I had with hunters was that pre-lvl 10 they weren't as fun because of their lack of melee abilities and that they had no way to keep monsters from charging at them after only 2-4 shots from the bow.

Not saying that they are bad, they can solo those levels with mobs 1-2 levels within their level just like all other classes, its just that I wasnt a fan of having 1/3 of my special abilites only able to be used for half the fight, then just mashing raptor strike.

This is all pre lvl 10 though because after ten you should always have your trusty sidekick with you.

Well one thing I enjoy abould warlocks is that there is allot to do tacticswise. You pull with a dot sick pet then dott mob some more. Then if things go bad you can suck life from mob or pump your life to the pet. Then you got soulshards to make healthstones so youcan get a head start on atuff mob by making one and then using it after you have sent life to your pet.

Then there is fear which is a lifesaver if yo get a add and it really kicks *** on mobs with pets just fear the pet and kill the mob and then when the pet returns you only got one thing to deal with.

I think I will stick woth the warlock class. I just got a little infatuated with the hunter pets and the guns they get to use.

I say you should check out the hunter class, just push through the beggining levels.

You'll be happy with it most probably once you get a pet.

i have played a warlock to 15 and a hunter to 18 and here is what i found. warlocks can solo pretty well but also have a viable role in a party as a massive damage dealer. there soloing skills are good but if you hvae to fight more than 1 mob you will end up casting the fear spell a lot instead of just taking it. hunters on the other hand are massive soloers. There can let there pet tank a mob and just stand back and shoot. there damage is highly underrated i can drop a mob faster than most wariors and even some rogues can. the other thing with hunters is they can take more than one mob on at a time. they arent horid at getting hit so they can let there pet tank 1-2 and also them tank one. i killed 4 mobs yesterday at the same time. they were 1-2 levels below me but i think that shows how good the hunter really is at solo.

The biggest difference though is that hunters arent really wanted in a party situation. you can get a party but they arent sought after. warlocks arent either but i can see them playing more of a role in a pt than a hunter can

Both classes are very difficult to play until the pets start to come into their own. For a hunter, you probably won't get the knack of how to use your pet until about level 12. (It IS possible to just fight and use your pet for side damage, but its rather hard to play that way and rely on using Mongoose Bite for damage.)

I haven't really played warlock to compare. I got annoyed with the class around level 6, but it also really isn't my style.
