This past Monday we launched the World of Warcraft open beta test, and by the following day, we had already reached a total of more than 500,000 signups! Now let me state that I'm not going to bash any games here...
Okay, now before the test, there were 400,000 people testing, right? Add in the 500,000+ people and thats 900,000...
900,000...damn, that's gotta be a record MMO beta test wise. Now lets look at North America for a second here. 500,000 people signed up and playing along side the over 100,000 or so testers here. Now, in one week this game managed to be played by more people then FFXI (550k all over the world), DAoC (200k) and EQ (around 200k...let me know if I'm off...) Even though this will most likely change come retail, that's mighty impressive.
Anyways, just here to do something as my open beta downloads, making me 500,001....
On a side note, I made a boo boo and put "about" instead of "to" in the title. Silly me ;P
