When I play WoW, time just flies by. I could sit down after I get home from school, log in, run to somewhere and its already time to eat! I just dont know where the time goes!
For me, in FFXI I was a somebody. Not a big somebody, just a somebody. I had lots of friends, a good reputation, when people would examine me, they would say 'Wow, nice equips!' and Id feel proud and happy..
But in WoW, everybody and everything just seems the same, now, dont get me wrong, Im not going to criticize WoW (Especially not in the WoW forums!), it just feels like Im a nobody, just some random person going about my own business just like everyone else. Everyone my level looks very similar to everyone else my level, of the same class.
But maybe when I get higher level, join a good guild, and begin to actually 'get into' the game, assuming I havent already, things will get better.
And besides, the game hasnt even gone retail yet, things could and probably will be added/changed/removed even from the game. But whatever will happen, only time will tell, and with WoW the time eating machine, its not too far into the future.

Oh, and by the way, Im assuming this was your post on FFXI forums. You did get an answer. It might have taken a while, but you got one, and besides, that "Dead horse" post by GeorgeWierdBush a little while back was right on.

Wow, rate down for asking questions in the FFXI forum...

And damn are they rate-down happy. They took a 10,000+ post sage down a full color. I mean, damn, that's devotion... or ****-retentiveness.

Heh, looks like people read the first line of your post and blasted you with an awful... I hope my rateup(s) will help. I played FFXI for about a month or so, what I call my "MMO Honeymoon time". Most any MMO can catch my attention for a period of a week to a month. The only MMOs that ever took me beyond that were Everquest and my MUD. Anyway, so these guys at work play FFXI, and I start to convince myself I feel like getting back into it. I even bought a PS2 copy so I could 2 box, which WAS neat... Turns out I still don't like tha game though. $80 mistake. Oh wait, plus $65 for 2 copies of Chains of Promathia! Like last week when I felt like playing EQ again, I got all excited about new AAs in OoW, and maybe finding a guild that goes on actual raids. $30 for OoW, $13 for the month. Then the WoW stress test started. Of course my lovely gilded collector's platinum edition of EQ2 should arrive tomorrow. Since they sent me the little free disk you get for plaving a preorder right away, the order is partially shipped and can't be canceled! It's weird, but I can't play 2 MMOs at a time. I also buy craploads of consoles and games, then just focus on my current MMO obsession. Oh well, I guess I'm a marketing department's dream...

I'm not sure what to think of this thread. It seems to me that everyone is just flaming about how FF players never answer questions and just rate down people. It's just turned into a FF bash fest. How does that make you better than the people you call "Asshats"?

To answer your question don't let your account stay inactive for more than 3 months if you wish to return. SE has a terrible Policy where if you do leave your account inactive for that long they will completely erase your POL ID and you will have to REPURCHASE the game. I think the policy is to ty and prevent character selling, but we all know it doesn't work.

I play both games and as for rating down, I don't rate someone down unless they have a post like "FF XI sucks". It's not constructive and doesn't need to be on the boards. You know if a Final Fantasy player came on here and said "WoW is for n00bs" you would rate him down so fast he'd hit 0 before beofore the first comment on punctuation.

Where did this comparison come from anyway. Why are we comparing it to FF. If most of you consider FF the worst game you've ever played, then why do you compare what you consider to be the worst with what you consider the best? Or is it that you compare them because they're both good games? Personally I think WoW took all the things that FF did and made them faster and integrated them more. I would hope that WoW would be slightly better anyway since FF has been out for almost 3 years and WoW is still in Development.

So why don't we just all play the games we think are fun to us and stop turning it into FF bashes WoW and WoW bashes FF. There really is no point to it.
