I am planning on going pure miner. I didnt want to go smith also since it would use valuable points for bettermining skills.
Maybe i am wrong but its better to just go 1 skill hardcore right? So if i want to smith i should makea alt?
Please give me your suggestions.....

Your max skill in any profession is 300, but you don't have to go with a single profession like in FFXI.

Skill points have been removed from the game. The only limitation on your tradeskilling is that you can only do two professions. Blacksmithing will not inhibit your mining, only prevent you from taking any OTHER skill as well.

Thats very good to hear, thank you.

One other question. I read that besides my 2 profesions of mining/smithing......I can also do Cooking, Fishing, And First Aid with out hindering professions.
Is this correct?

If you wanted to do skills just for pure profiting without much side effort you could try mining/gathering. Just mine/gather plants as you quest, then sell at AH. Or throw skinning in there (easier to do because you just skin beasts as you kill them).

Mining is gathering...you mean herbalism? I wouldn't do both of those at once since the two tracking skills conflict. If you do two gathering skills, skinning MUST be one of them.
