It's ok ogre I have dealt with people much worse than you on a daily basis.

Supposedly the key's are limited. But it's a big number so there should be a good chance even if you come late that you can get in.

Unfortunately they have not announced a time. Actually it is entirely possible open beta will not start tomorrow. There have been several statments that it will be on the 8th but blizzard has not 'officially' said this.

well i'm screwed bit torrent downloads slow as hell for me. no way i'll get it in a -2- weeks. sad i can get 100kbs off a normal download link... ps if its bit torrented i'm pretty sure that means you download off people downloading it, meaning if tons of people are also downloading it you get it faster, due to more people to steal from. pss. the blizzard downloader for the trailer was a bit torrent program i believe (runs much better for me than other ones tho), so i'm assuming this will be torrented too.

Yes the more people downloading the better....usually but when 400,000 people are trying to download the first 5% of the file then that is where it get's slow. Once everyone has a good percentage then it speeds up a great deal. Don't get discouraged like I said before when you start this download the transfer rate will be awful but after a hour or two it will pick up dramatically.

Thank you so much for this information. I began downloading it overnight and when I got up in the morning, it had stopped at 16 percent and had an error of "bad tracker data" or something to that effect. I closed that error window but the downloading did not continue. I rebooted the system and went back to the download and it picked up at 13 percent and began downloading again. Then at 20 percent it gave me the same "tracker" error. When I closed the error window, it continued downloading. I'm at work now (when I left the house it was about 30 percent downloaded), and I hope it will complete the download without the error re-appearing. Thanks again for this heads-up to save some much expected bog down time when everyone begins to download it from WoW's site some time later today.

I d/led it, installed it and ran the program (W000000T!!!!!)But then i saw the version (1.01 October 10, 2004) Does this mean we'll have to the new patch when we get our keys, or by dowloading this did we just ***** ourselves over, blizz will probly release the download on their site already ready to play with the new patch. I hope i we'll be able to get updated before we play, if not, we gotta go through hell again and d/l it once more =(

There may be a patch since they just had a new update but patching a file that's just a few megs shouldn't take long. You won't have to download the entire client again.

The open beta file is good.
They already stated that when we began to download it for the stresstest that this is the final installer since it is useless to make another one for an open beta that last less then 2 weeks.

When you open the installer you probly will be able to get the updates already wich can be a pain too.

one more comment... they just released a patch on the 7th you put up a link on the 6th so wouldnt that make this link an outdated version which should also mean it wont work. i doubt blizzard will release a stand alone patch for this pre-mature version

Yeh, they released a patch, but the client will update when you try to start it up. It's not a problem.

It should just update the files that were changed much like Eq does and then allow you to play.
