Why is being Blizzard being so ******* GAY?Follow

#1 Nov 03 2004 at 9:51 PM Rating: Decent
Why won't they just tell the rest of America (from México all the way to Argentina) to **** off and that they don't want our money? If they just tell me I won't be able to play I'll stop my whining and forget about it but so far they have either said "We don't know" or not replied. A guy from Brasil made a thread on the WoW forums asking for answers saying they have a community of 2,000 players (http://www.mmorpgbrasil.net/) that want to play and the mods just deleted the thread. Some idiots replied with: "get a green card", "they are not going to make a server for 2,000 people", "get a friend in the US to pay for you unless you have no social skills" (I wish I could send a punch across the internet). *SIGH* I really want to play.

Wahhhhh sorry for my dumb little rant there's nothing anyone here can do but I can't post in the official forums so >:P

Fully agree..

Whenever someone post something complaining about Blizzard's stupidity of having the server regionalisation crap, Many people from NA (obviously, it wont affect them..) will come and talk crap or say that the policy is good..

I would like to ask you to spare a thought for others from other regions..

Anything I have said on the matter is not my support of Blizzard so much as an attempt to rationalize. I'm sure they have a logical reason, and as soon as I figure out what it is, I'll let you know.

Yeah, I'm on your side on the regional issues and think Bliz has been too evasive in addressing the problem and being clear about how they will handle it. But I really think you could've chosen a better way of expressing yourself than calling them ************* gay". You have a valid issue, but that type of profanity doesn't score you any points. :\

I hope as many countries that have a player base get servers, or get access to servers as near as possible. Hey the bigger the community can get the better I always say.

This issue (although it doesn't affect me) would be near the top (if not top) question in need of a REAL answer. I know that all the info will come when Blizzard is ready to say it.

I just hate getting my hopes up when reading the offical forums and seeing a good question get a standard answer of "no offical statement yet".

The reasoning behind the seperate servers is very solid i believe. Though i dont think it should be forced possibly reccommended. They are localizing so they can service that area bettter. Think about it, down time will be at the least active time on your servers area. No language barriers. No ping problems like FFXI's overseas servers. etc. So i dont think it should be forced but i can see the reasons behind it.

*sigh* Please read up on the region server issue and lets cut down on topics with such titles as this one. Seriously, if you expect to be heard, at least come off with a little bit more respect. Rate down.

I have sent several emails to Blizzard about the issue, but they just say, "Stay tune to worldofwarcraft.com and we will keep you updated."

*Frustration*

Seifer, seriously, calm down. You are getting angry at a game that has yet to be release. Makes any sense? I think not.

When the game goes gold then I'm sure Blizzard will be able to provide more info. Until then, cool your jets and play something else.

I understand your frustration. However, coming from FFXI I can tell you that server regionalization is the best way to do this. With FFXI all of the servers were located in Japan. This caused problems with them doing ALL upgrades during the day in NA and that always sucked. It also caused the Japanese NM campers to have an advantage as the spawn of the NM would have some lag for us. NA players are treated as second class citizens in that game and it is a major reason why I am leaving for WoW. I wish you luck in your endeavor to play. I just started yesterday. It looks like a great game so far.

Server Regionalization is a good thing.

Forced to play on those servers is a bad thing.

Having regional/timezone servers is good because it allows you to hire support staff that is actually around during the peak times of those servers. Events on those servers are at peak time for that area. Maintenance will happen at peak time in those areas.

And most importantly, the player base is for the most part in the same area and have same hours. There were alot of times that I'd stay up to 2 in the morning doing a mission in FFXI because we started it at 12, but it was only like 9 for the majority of the people because they were west coast and i was east coast.

FFXI's servers were all japan based, that meant that maintenance was not during Japan peak time, it ended up happening during NA peak playing time.

Being forced to play a certain region is bad. If Korean players want to play on a US East server, it's their choice and they willingly accept the consequances of doing that. Different maintenance time, playing hours then others.

Let people play the server they want, knowing the hours may be different.

Take a look at Ultima Online. They have time zone/region based servers, but can play on any one you want.

It works out great.

Smiley: lol They don't have any money....

J/K....seriously though...they don't.

No no no....j/k. I dunno. But keeping the beta to a smaller population that the game will appeal the most to, with the people that can communicate with the developers the best is the goal. If they could barely handle the influx of NA stress testers, imagine what would have happened if they had opened the beta to the entire world.

We didn't get FFXI for over a year. Maybe Blizzard ( a business that needs to make money), wants to ensure the stability and profitablility of this game before committing to a global scale for now.

BTW....calling a company @#$*ing gay on a well-known board is a great way to get them to listen to you.

Judging from that, I would rather they let me into NA servers, and let me be at a disadvantage rather than putting me in a server full of people i dont understand, or not releasing the game in my country at all..

Perhaps instead of calling a company "@#%^ing gay" and attacking it when you have no information whatsoever to back up your rant/attack/argument, you could possibly just wait and see what happens after the game itself is released? If they have reasons for wanting to keep the CB/ST/OB in America, then that is their perogative. I'm sure when they release the game, you will know.

Also, on a tangent here, calling something gay when used in an insulting/condecending manner is generally going to only get you negative comments. Not only that, it's disrespectful and bigoted and makes implications and so on and so forth... you could (and have) offended someone reading it. Using talk like that will make people view you as a child, so if you want to be taken seriously, try to avoid that.

Just my two cents...

I understand how he feel, as im in the same situation. Cant blame him for insulting blizzard. Its really frustrating.

Plus, if they are planning to let us play, just tell us, and if they dont want to let us play, just tell us. Saying that they don't know is just pure frustration, because they are still giving us empty hope. If blizzard just tell us straight in the face that we are not going to play, then we can give up and play something else, rather than waiting for the day blizzard announce something for us.
