i have read some things and if i understood them correctly you can either join 1 of 2 sides, the horde or the alignment(i think). one being evil the other good(i think). is this true, and if so do you battle against them for world control or something similiar? its things like this that interest me in WoW. also if you get PK do you drop items like i read you do in L2. when you are fighting a mob can anyone attack it as i read they can in L2 and can anyone run by and pick up the items it drops? lots of questoins but i dont want to download the beta to find out simply because as the above poster mentioned too many people in the zones already.

Nope, not really. Quite a bit touche' people out there. I even called for people not to rate down (not like they'll listen to me anyways...) I'll rate ya up for providing a different point of view with a valid arguement.

Good to hear that you're giving the game another shot at least. Just relax and enjoy the time you spend in it. Keep in mind experiences vary when you choose a different race so give them all a try and have fun ^^

there will be some areas in wow that you do get to "take over" but you cannot take over cities and all.

also you do NOT drop any prized items if you die. Infact losing exp is a option.

(gives the op a karma boost pill)

Red we really need to find out who are those ignorant karma popers. I bet they are allience players...Time to wage war!!

ok a few more noob questions i didnt ask already. how does the PvP work, can you kill anyone anywhere or only members of the opposing force. and if so can it be done in all areas or only select battle ground type areas. last but not least in the video i watched i saw a gladiator style arena can somebody tell me what its for.

It depends on the server you decide to start out on.

Since the pvp in WoW is allience vs Horde, your pvp will be mostly against the opposing faction.

If theres a "Ganker" (found in Pvp server) if they kill newbs they will be tagged for any race to kill in any place the gankers found. (the hornor system its called and its going to be inplemented soon)

As for the pvp server:

You can battle vs the allience (assuming you went horde)at any given time. You spot one you kill em. Dont know much more about this server since i only read about it.(hopefully someone will post the correct info for the pvp server soon)

as for PVE servers. you can Only pvp against the opposing faction only if you attack one of their npc's. If they are not targeted for pvp(they get a icon next to their name) you cannot battle them. Their name will be in blue. If they do attack and kill a npc their names will be in yellow thus you can engage them at will, they cannot attack you unless you hit them 1st.

There will be battle grounds, and every once in a while a "Raid " is fourmed up for fun, you go into the opsoing factions territory and wreak havoc. (on both servers but you must kill a npc on the pve one)

Also you can duel someone. you target the person (no matter the faction) you can right click on their portiat and select duel.

well thats about all i can give you . I reccomend you visit this thread for more details

i will agree with ne one who says this is a bad game. I for one think they r wrong, but thats why we have opinions.

I love the game, i played a dwarf hunter to 20 in the frist ST, and loved every single level of it. I cant wait until OB comes out and i get a chance to play the horde. I got a good veiw of the game while playing my dwarf (though from a differant angle :)) if i ever got "bored" with an area then all i had to do was go to the next area. I spent numerous hours in Stormwind, Loch Modan, Ironforge, and ne where inbetween. Thats why i love it so much, the freedom to change areas at will when you get bored or need more quests.

thank you for the info, to me that is the aspect of the game that sounds like it will make it worth while. and just think the PvP server wont have the IGE problem that FFXI has, because we can kill the farmers. and i always wished ffxi had some sort of raid on the main cities even though it would be players vs the normal in game beastmen it seems it would add an awsome feel to the game. and as for the duel system, i wish ffxi had that also. somebody talks **** to you and you challenge them to a duel nice ;)

Ninji there is a MMo that came out that makes Hordes of Npc mobs attack cities and you need to defend them (I saw a small raid in the open beta of the game)

Its called The saga of Ryzom. However its not really popular and when wow and eq2 come out that game just might die out.:(

Sorry it's a nice quiet attack people like to use here. I'm really bothered that someone is rated down just because we have a bunch of WoW junkies here. Everyone is entitled to a opinion.

Horde or Alliance. They might *seem* like good and evil to someone who hasn't played Warcraft 3, but that isn't really the case. The one side just has more monstrous people in it.

You don't fight for world control in the sense of taking territory, (although we don't know what battlegrounds are like yet.) You do not lose items in PvP, but on the PvP servers, you will be able to fight anyone on the other side.

When you attack a creature, it becomes "tapped," which means it is YOUR group's creature. If anyone else helps kill it, it is still your creature and only your's to loot, get experience from, etc.

I remember in the original Stress Test stealing a few kills of a certain Elite Timberling quite a few times as a Druid. Basically, they got in way over their head and they basically ran like hell and I just saw them running by, and chain nuked the **** to death. I got the loot and I got some XP out of it.

I believe it's something like you have to do more than 50% damage, don't quote me on it though.

It's first hit.

Happens alot by accident when have a bunch of hunters around with ranged. Can't always see the other person on screen.

Anyways, if that other person gets the first hit but I end up doing all the damage (say the person notices me and leaves), I don't get looting rights or experience.
