Has anyone seen them in game yet? I imagine that if they were (or if/when they get added later) that they would be similiar to how goblins are and be an NPC only race.

I forget where the ended up settling too.....guess I need to play Frozen Throne again to remember.

I wish I had frozen throne, kinda makes any tips for online strategys useless because theres always at least one unit/building in a build that is from frozen throne.

I hope in a later expansion that they will become a playable race along with Blood elves and Naga. There is a certain attraction that Paderans give off as a playable race. I guess being a humaniod panda bear with the urge to drink while dressed like a person out of an old chinese movie is too good to pass up!

There MIGHT be one in Ratchet. Someone, I'm not sure who, gives a quest that has to do with ingredients for some of Chen Stormstout's ales. Chen himself is not in game as far as I can tell, but this guy who has his recipes MIGHT be a Pandaren. Haven't seen him myself.

If they did add another playable race it would reqiure one on horde and one on alliance to really balance things out, but I doubt it since it wouldn't really go along with a lot of storylines and the game.

Depends, really. The undead could break away from the horde and join up with the Lich King/Arthas, Panderans, Naga and Blood Elves can join together thanks to Illidan and we all know that the Burning legion have their own motives. While I know its too early to say what will be or not be in the game in expansions, I know Blizzard will not let these races go to waste. One thing is for sure, though. Goblins will side with no one. It hurts profits.

Thats why I thought they would end up as an NPC race like Goblins. I have most of the table-top Warcraft RPG books and they detail Pandarens as having good relations with both Factions.

They were fond of Tauren, Orks, and Dwarves.

And on a seperate note, I am sure that Blood Elves/Nagas are going to be added in later content as NPCs. Blizz has said several times that there will be a PC event to open the dark portal. If you have played and beat Frozen Throne you should know what is on the other side (and they also already said that Illidan is the NPC with the highest lvl, too).

Kinda suprising that Illidan has the highest level title. Although I would have to say that if anyone did fight him it would probably be spectacular.

Someone should just make a good post on here to gather lore information. Would be fun.

Gah, I do not want to fight Illidan. He's just too cool as the forsaken Night elf Anti hero! ;_;

I would like to see a Arthas vs Illidan rematch once Northend comes into play. I'd pay to see that!

There is a good amount of story posted at worldofwarcraft.com but still no hard-core lore as in character bios or race information like what we are talking about. Maybe someone could start a journal with stuff in it or something, althought it would have to be listed in "general" here in allakhazam as they havn't set aside a WoW journal listing yet.

Yeah, I thought there 1st fight was pretty weak. It was a neat way to introduce Arthas as the new lich king, but still overall was pretty weak for a fight.

EDIT: Forgot to quote person I was respondig to. /slap

They're kinda like chinese kung fu humanoid panda bears that wander the lands getting drunk. Here's a pic of one: http://www.blizzard.com/war3x/screenshot.aspx?ImageIndex=9&Set=3

Beware the Drunken Brawling pandaren! They'll drench you in alchohol then set you on fire. Really. Yes, really.

There are no Panderans that I am aware of. I know players often claim there should be a neutral faction added to the game just so they can play goblins, panderans, and a couple other races that vary from proposition to proposition.

I am very fond of seeing a neutral race or series of playable races being added to the game. With this they could add faction-based tradeskills. Then the neutral factions who somehow loose territory control, could be the traders in the game. They risk their hides to trade the essential goods and services within the game. Borderline privateers, and black market traders they could bring so much into the games economy and warring faction ideal.

AO had a system that was suppose to be just like this, though it never panned out. In every great war there are neutral agencies who make their livelihood by moving items across the battlefield, I highly anticipate the opportunity to join this element if they implement it in an expansion. The sheer fun of knowing you have to walk right into a hostile town, not knowing if you’re going to be killed on sight or treated like a hero just for showing up. This also adds the vast elements of espionage to the game, for the merchant always makes the best spy.

Anyway I have no idea about Panderans in game now. I never ventured into towns much during stress test. I was too busy running around and dying trying to see everything out in the world. I would suspect they would come into play though, as the Naga have already been found in places.
