I am a huge warcarft fan. I want to play in the upcomming open beta but i have a few question.
1. If i play in the open beta will my character remain the same after release. or, will they erase all characters?
2. I am used to a gamepad (since i am a huge final fantasy XI player). Is it hard for someone to transition to a keyboard and will it take away from the enjoyment of the game. It seems hard for me to enjoy a game while i am trying to navigate this huge keyboard.
3. if i have to use a keyboard can someone please suggest a good gaming board. I kinda think the keyboards with the mini joystick in the lower left corner would be easy to use but i cant find one anywhere. any suggestions?

I am sure these two questions have been aked somewhere but i need to ask them. also hopefully any other potential noobs can post thier questions here, as i am sure someone will ask the same question.
thanks to anyone who can answer.

1. Most Likely they won't be transferred into the Retail version. Just Blizzards way of doing things.

2. I have no clue on the gamepad, I have always used the Keyboard for just about everything though in the stress test.

1) Blizzard has already said they don't want Beta testers having an advantage over non-Beta testers. That means there's a 95% chance of a wipe.

2) I can't imagine using a gamepad over a keyboard. I mean, there's so much communication that goes on during the game that unless you solo a lot... anyway, I found the keyboard controls to be very intuitive and quick to pick-up. No biggie.

3) See Phanco's post.

And you're an interested NEWB not NOOB.

A noob is someone that thinks they know everything and don't listen to advice when they are wrong.

A newb is a new person.

Many newbs dont know the difference though because a lot of noobs out there will yell at them saying "stupid noob" and the such.

"newb: noun. Someone who is new, inexperienced, or raw. Though generally shy, these inquisitive souls are usually willing to listen to good advice. Uncultivated or abused newbs sometimes become corrupt and metamorphose into n00bs. This term is not a cut-down in most cases, often being used neutrally unless uttered by a n00b."

"n00b (also noob): noun, from 1337-speak. A person with a combination of arrogance, inability to communicate in English, inability to accept criticism, immaturity, and more rage than a bull on roller skates. This term actually does not refer to a person's skill level, though it generally applies to people who think more highly of themself than is the case. This term is always negative and, when not used by other n00bs, typically refers to a total jerk. If someone you trust calls a person this, you don't want to hang with that person."
