Crowd Control?Follow

I have yet to figure out who gets the crowd control duty in WOW. My highest is only 11 priest but I have yet to see a mez. I did see a druid root something recently, and I know my rogue has a 5 sec stun that lets me get behind to backstab.

Is it mostly warlocks with their succubus pet?

The game was designed with the thought in mind that there wouldn't be a great deal of CC, nor would it be highly necessary. Originally priests were supposed to have the CC spell, but this was moved to mages, and then the spell itself was changed.

Rogues have sap - a pre-combat mez
Mages have polymorph, which changes a creature into a sheep for a bit. They also have frost nova, which serves as a brief AE root.
Warlocks have their succubus mez and also a once-per-half-hour banish spell that lasts for 30 seconds
Druids have a very unreliable root spell
The only other CC in this game is tank-mezzing.

Wow it seems everyone has this conception that there has to be a crowd-control class....why? Yes there is one in EQ ok....but they aren't required in a group. There is one in CoH...again not required for a group. All I know is that there should be a Tank, Healer, and Damage Dealer, and the rest is gravy imo.

You obviously never played EQ. Or if you did, didn't get high enough. Or if you got high enough, were blind.

Actually I did play EQ mainly with my fiance. We only got to 40 (Ranger and Druid) before moving on the greener pastures. I don't see why you need a CC in EQ when with our duo we were doing just fine (due mainly to my fiance's druid admittedly), and three classes can solo all the way to max level, those being of course the druid, necromancer, and bard.

If you wanted to do any raids/dungeons/planes, an enchanter was required. And you only got up to level 40. Everything huge really got started around 45 or something. But bleh.

Well this is WoW but i cant help it i have to to replay on this.

CC isent needed in a group in EQ.

Well if you want any dicent exp you need a full group and CC , Or you get killd quit soon. But if you like to play at lover lvls you do fine whith halv groups and no CC. I had a lv 65 char whith 400+ AA.

I wuld like to say in EQ at higer lvl you need a War Cleric Slower and some caind of good CC and for the last spots get 2 good dam dealers.

Resons whay.

First the healer might not be abel to heal as fast and mutch when more then 1 mob hits the tank. And if he do it takes alot more mana then to heal from one so sooner or later healer get oom and you get downtime.

Second its harder for the tank to ceep agro on more then 1 mob at the time so the mob might run to healer and bam his dead.

Its what i think i havent played WoW yet but i think some basics are same here as in EQ.
