Funny comic, but I somehow I do think the resting system is going a bit too far. It massively penalizes people who level in long stretches. This doesn't necessarily mean power gamers, you're also penalizing the people who work 9-5 during the week, and like to make alot of progress on the weekends when they can. Using this system, after half a day grinding on saturday, he's done for the weekend.

This system only benefits either the EXTREME casual gamer (under 15 hours a month), or moderate casual gamers that can log on for an hour or two every other day. I intitially liked the idea, but the more I think about it, the more I feel it's going to sour alot of the casual players that play in spurts, and anyone who likes to play more than 1-2 hours a day (I probably would be the kind of player in WoW who would play 2-4 a day. Call that Hardcore if you will, some of us just have different hobbies is all ^^)

I really do hope they re-examine this system before release, it could be a potential disaster for blizzard, as all the HC gamers who loved the idea of WoW will now be going back to their games of choice until EQ2 arrives.

The Soulless Dragon (sic) strip is about two months old, when people's complaints last phase about the rest state were hot and heavy. Souless was one of the more outspoken and ostentatious of the protestors. There aren't nearly as many people griping now.
