Yep that's how it is you get auto flagged. Also the guards definately aggro on the opposing faction.

No, what I meant is FFXI was designed for the PS2. Bringing it to the computer market came later. Thats why your fighting the same damn mobs over and over.

At this point no console based MMO will be superior to one desgned for computer play. Not to mention that your average concole player is younger and less mature than your average computer player. Most mommas will buy their kids a $150 console, rather than shelling out 2k for a top of the line gaming PC.

Hmmm that kind of sucks, so if a friend chooses to be an orc we have to be enemies and I'll never be able to explore the orc city :/ Well so far looks like WoW doesn't have any of the stupid things in FFXI but it doesn't have any of the few good ones either :|

FFXI had good things!? *shocked*

Anyways, its not so much that you are restricted from taking a visit to a Horde city if you are an Alliance, you're just kinda unwelcomed. As for grouping with a horde member, don't expect this too soon. The same way FFXI relies on missions to tell a story, WoW's Horde vs Alliance theme lets you live the story, allowing you to actually be a soldier for your nation rather then a pest exterminator like in FFXI. Just get your friend on your side and go-a-slicing away.

Yes, multiple characters.

This came straight from www.worldofwarcraft.com in the rest

"Note that while your character is resting at an Inn, you can play other characters on your account. The Rest State is per character only."

The newest patch was the 22nd of September. Level cap has been raised to 60, along with new content to accomodate the new level cap.

Also lvl 60 mounts have been introduced to offer faster speeds for 1000 gold!

A good way to look at this on the PvE servers is that once you enter an opposing faction's territory, you are neutral until you decide to attack a neutral enemey.

Once you attack a neutral NPC, your reputation with that faction is decreased. After decreasing you reputation to a certain amount, you will then be marked for open PvP by anyone of the opposing faction, including players.

You can, however, gain reputation with a particular faction by completing quests and not attacking the NPC's.

Also, you will not be able to be attacked by other players unless you have first declared your hostility by attacking neutral or opposing faction NPC's.

That is how this is played out on the PvE servers. Just saw a few questions here that I hope this can clarify and answer.

Actually, Undead (I know you said Orc - but, I am not sure you were not referring to the Horde in general) can speak Common (what all the Alliance speak), however, you can not group with the opposite faction, in theory, a group of alliance and undead could talk to each, but not actually party with each other.

*EDIT*

Upon further reading due to the new patch (released sept 29), you can see the thread on the boards,
Quote:
Undead players no longer speak Common. They now speak Gutterspeak (Native) and Orcish (Horde Common).
So, I guess.. us Undead can no longer speak to the Alliance. Aw well, big whoop :P, I will just learn common, so when they say something I can translate it, lmao, I was actually going to try to learn Taurenhe with one of my friends on the stress test, he says something in Taurenhe, then in Orcish, and we compare :P!

**EDIT**

I remember I was around Pyrewood Village - and I saw someone.. tall.. looked human-ish. And, low and behold there was a human, I went up to him, talked in common and said "Hey..." and he replied "Wow, an Undead is talking to me?" and I replied "Haha, yeah, we can speak common to!", then it goes on to me and him becoming friends, we fought some stuff together (even though not in a party) then he died from Son of Arugal and I never saw/ and or talked to him again. Sad ending.

There are some free MMORPG out there.

Yes, you will have to pay for WoW. Final fee has not been determined. Chances are it will be within the $10 to $15 range. If I had to guess, I'd say $12 or $13.

But they all suck, so your point is moot. Just take a look at this equation:

MMORPG+Free=Total ***

That's math. Math is never wrong.

If you want a free MMORPG good luck finding a good one. To me guild wars is a pathetic game. If you visit the main site you'll see what I mean.

The only good one I know of is Runescape.

Where was game quality ever mentioned?

The question was if you had to pay to play WoW.

The statement:

isn't true, because free MMORPG's do exist.

Are they better games then the play for pay ones? That's a matter of opinion.

I felt like talking about the game quality of Free MMOs. If it bothers you it's beyond me.

1) x = y
2) x^2 = xy (multiply both sides by x)
3) x^2 - y^2 = xy - y^2 (subtract y^2 from each side)
4) (x + y)(x - y) = y(x - y) (factor)
5) x + y = y (divide out (x - y))
6) 2y = y (substitute y for x from #1)
7) 2 = 1 (What do you think of that?!)
O.o ???

math is just a figment of your imagination

I have a question! *raises hand*

1) Recently Blizzard added the bloom feature that has been used to enhance the way the world appears. I was wondering if this feature actually improves on the graphics and can we get an example?

2) Seems like those warlocks are finally getting love. Overlooking their spells and such, it seems that they have been developed to be kings of damage over time with while mages are kings of burst damage. Here's the question, which class is actually the damage overal king? Is it also true that hellfire (warlock spell) is the most damaging AoE in the game?

3) From the looks of it, many items had an overhaul when it cames to stats. Some increased certain numbers while others dropped, changing the way the player gained bonuses. Tell me, with the recent 5 sec casting penalty and the other changes to various classes, did the new stats help or crippled the way you play?

I also have a question *raises hand slightly higher*

i know i asked this in the other thread but it should have been asked here:

in the hunter class, whats the rules on taming?

what lvl can i tame? half my level? equal to my level?

how many pets can i have? how many can i control at a time?

can i sell a pet to a non hunter?

any info is appreciated but no guesses plz i want beta testers

I think you divided by zero. That is, after all, what (x-y) is, if x=y.
