Ragefire chasm as an AllyFollow

Hi!

Did anyone try to solo-break into Orgrimmar's Ragefire chasm instance to get the achievement?
I would suppose that it is not THAT hard for stealthing classes, but would like to hear from other people, as I'm slowly preparing to do that on my hunter - stockpiling swiftness pots, rocket boots, invulnarability belts and all those gimmicks that might help.
Any tips/thoughts?

One of my guild ran his level 70 Hunter to the pool in Orgrimmar to do the fishing quest , he did it by run die res , run die res until he got to where he needed to be .

I think even with pots and other tricks it will still take some time , and my friend did his fishing quest by the front door without aids and it only took about 30 minutes to catch his fish.

The same advice to get to Ragefire , best bet if you want to keep cost of repairs down is to put your armour into your bags , all it takes is several deaths and time , and assuming you know exactly where to go it may be easier to go in the back door instead of trying the front gate as that area will always be a problem , and the back door will only have guards to kill you or be killed instead of probably about 30+ horde.

It will take some time to get there as you will have to ghost run a fair distance if you die , and perhaps spend time waiting for any that are camping your body to get bored , before you die each time you should be able to move forward and try not to die on top of where guards stand as you will need a little space to get away , as a Hunter i would use either the freeze or frost traps to slow attackers , i am intending to try it on one of my Hunter alts at about level 40.

Good luck and please let us know how you did it.

Being a Hordie myself, I think you should take the back door and avoid the AH/Bank area completely, like this:

Safest way to RFC for Alliance

1) Is the portal trainer. Level 61-70s might be porting in here from Shatt.
2) Where the BG vendors are, there's always some activity here - but inside ofc.
3) Is where Thrall be havin' his caek
4) FP. There's a bridge connecting it to the road you'll be on.

You probably won't meet many players along the way, especially early on the day or late at night. I didn't even know there was an exit on that side of the cleft of shadows - but it is clearly visible on the map. I've been a Hordie since 2005 but I always take the other entrance in! Mostly because I never take the back door Smiley: grin
If you can't find the entrance, just pass by 3 and take the other side. Not *that* much player activity there, but more than the shortcut.

If you have a mount, you'd probably outrun the guards that'll try to stomp you if not - run rez run is the way to go. It's not that far, it seems you should be able to get past the portal trainer mounted. You also have FD as a hunter, so it won't be that much trouble I think.

Yeah, I suck at paint - but with a trackball it's hard drawing fluent lines Smiley: bah

Hi!

Managed to earn the achievement today in the morning. Took the back door to Org, died once around portal trainer, and would have managed without deaths if my FD was not resisted by the guards (I forgot that they are lvl 75, not 65 anymore :| ). Took about 15 minutes with the corpse-run from Thorn Hill to get to the instance itself.
Screenshot will be provided later on, when I come back home from work :)

As a side-note - I think that it will be somewhere around impossible to get to the instance before lvl.60 - the guards resist FD much more often as they are higher level, aggro from far away, hit for a lot and there are lots of them, to boot.

Now, some brave hordie should tell a tale about earning Stockade achievement ;)

Hmmm I might try that on my hunter but it seems a bit harder than Org! I have a 61 human rogue but is there a backdoor in SW? Through the front would be like hell! I think I'll die as soon as I get on the bridge :/ and then the AH / Bank/ Inn on the main square. Ow man - I think the players will be more of a problem than the guards!

The 'back gate' would be the new (3.0.2) SW dock. The main square is the hell, for sure. I think that it's doable at about 4 a.m, where there is noone in the game ;)

Of course! Man, I had forgotten about that. The boat from Auberdine goes to Stormwind now!

Alright. By popular demand; Hordies set out from Orgrimmar to the fp in Zoram Strand, Ashenvale. From there you ride towards Darkshore and into Auberdine from the beach. I believe the northern boat goes to Darnassus and the southern one goes to SW. If not, the lulz are on me Smiley: lol. I don't know whether going into Auberdine will flag you, but you'd best wait for when the boat is about to dock and then rush towards it. It's no fun getting beat up waiting for your ride.

But let's assume you reach the right boat in one piece and arrive in Stormwind...

Route to Stockade for Hordies

Quite honestly, you're screwed as soon as you leave the boat. Though I've read that the Harbor guards are "only" level 65, there's quite a lot of them patrolling and posted on the dock. Not to mention the amount of players waiting for that boat or sightseeing in the novelty that is the harbour. On second thought, I think I should jump off the other side of the boat, into the water and get on land near the wall, so I have time to mount up. There's an incline to the north (hence the bend in my accurately placed, 90 degrees turn, red, trackballed paint line) which allows you to get on the top level which takes you through 2 archways into SW itself.

I can do two things, but I haven't yet decided on which course to take:
- Follow the red line and hope for the best
- Jump into the water (guards won't follow - players might) at the yellow spot (not the ones on the bottom left, ofc Smiley: tongue). It's only possible to get out of the water at the green points, from which it's only a short run for the Stockade.

Guards are patrolling the streets alongside the canal, and there's a possibility you'll run into a group of four guards escorting a Defias prisoner. But let's say you arrive at the building itself; there's a lot of guards in there!!! They're all trying the keep the prison uprising from spilling into the city, but as a Hordie - I guess they'll attack you too. I think I'll just send in my pet (70 Gorilla) to keep them busy while I jump down the stairs and into the Stockade.

Well, that's my plan which I hope to be able to carry out tonight (EU tonight, that is)Smiley: sly

A rate-up for the detailed plan and keeping fingers crossed for your achievement and a story after one! :)

Well, that was far easier than I had expected it to be, mostly because of the guards who could not keep up with the epicness of my mount!

After a little wait at the dock I was pleasantly surprised that stepping into Auberdine did not flag me. So, I got on the ship and had the hostile crew sail me into enemy territory. Quite silly to leave the backdoor open like that. They were lucky I came alone!

Well, I was flagged as soon as the loading dropped, and the dock was full of guards. Since I was flagged, the guards on the ship attacked me Smiley: eek. So I jumped off the ship and swam to the shore, where I got out of combat and mounted up.

Well, I aggroed everything (even that 4 man patrol with the Defias prisoner (who was friendly btw :/)) and entered the city without trouble.

The only hairy moment was entering the building, which caused me to dismount and end up between a handful of level 75 guards - the others didn't react, luckily - beating on me even when I was FD. Are city guards immune to feign death or something?!

Inside, it was not really worth pushing buttons, because my pet ate them alive. So in the end, I got my achievement at the first try, without dying.

Edit: Standard WoW UI ftw!

I was on a raid to Org one time. After we lost I stealth in and cleared RFC. I don't have the achievement.

I will have to raid Org again. :)

I think that they have much higher chance to resist FD because of the lvl difference!

That part reminded me that I still did not post my screenie, so HEREit is!

I don't think a 5 level difference should make such a big margin of resistance. I mean, I have succesfully FD'd in fron of mobs far higher than I. Two FD's on two guards and thus it fails 4 times (it's calculated per mob resistance, not per FD). But I don't care, I made it!

Makes me want to kill Van Cleef again :p

I did the RFC on my shaman by becoming a zombie and then using the portal to Org...much faster, but I did die a couple of times and that corpse run was loooooooooong.

The best advice I can give you is make a horde toon and check the route that you need to follow to get to the instance from the back door.

I still had 40% health after riding from the back door to the instance portal. I may have been lucky as I didnt get dazed/knocked off my horse though.

A word on exitting Orgrimmar. Dont attempt to exit via the front entrance, even if to help run a guildy through WC, RFK or RFD. It will end in tears for you, trust me.

Being a paladin I just used crusader aura through everything.

And as for the Baron's map of SW. You can get out of the canal right at the entrance to the stockades. you don't have to go back and stick more green dots in, just letting you know :)

Hi guys,

I just wanted to point out that Alliance have a very easy way to complete their Achievements in Orgrimmar (except the kill Thrall bit). If you take this quest. And then the follow up. This will make you friendly to hordes. Fishing in Orgrimmar made easy, I suppose...

I would assume some horde player could enlighten us on the equivalent horde quests.

If you want to do both the fishing achievements and RFC, wait until you've gotten your Veteran of the Wrath Gate achievement. After the cinematic, you have to take Fordragon's shield to the King in SW. The King then sends you on a diplomatic mission to Org with Jaina Proudmoore to find out WTF happened at the Wrath Gate.

THIS IS NOT THE REAL ORGRIMMAR. It is an alternate, identical version of Org. The guards con hostile, but they don't attack, and there are no players whosoever, so even though you are PVP flagged, you can stand out in the middle of the city and no one will gank you.

While you are there, catch Old Crafty (sometime before you level above 70, get the "Crocolisks in the City" daily quest and KEEP IT IN YOUR QUEST LOG. Until they fix the bug, it will make catching him much faster, so you won't have to do 1998 casts like I did.) Then run to RFC and get that achievement.

I don't know, though, whether or not you emerge from RFC in the real Org or the alternate Org, so instead of leaving the instance the way I came in, I hearthed out, since I didn't want to come out in the middle of the real Org.

should be easy on at level 80 with fast mount. I made it through Darnassus with my hordie to get the Teldrassil exploration achievement. Guards won't do much damage and probably won't dismount you (depending on your armor).

The toughest part is finding out where to run. Make a horde alt if you don't know where rfc is. Take all your armor off and ghost run if need be. my hunter did stockades at 70. only died once getting there.
