On my first character I didn't know about zepplins (I had never been around when one was coming or going) so I would just run up the zep tower and then jump off. Yeah, that character only made it to level 9.

I didn't learn FA with my lock until I was 60.

I tried to swim across the ocean because I didn't know about fatigue. I figured I could just corpse hop my way across the ocean after I died the first time, but they apparently took that into account. I have a screen shot of my dead ghost somewhere.

I knew what talent points where and how to use them, but I had no idea thats what people were talking about when they asked what spec I was. I usually just changed the subject.

When I was a level 8 UD lock, I decided to go to Durotar. While I was waiting at the zeppelin, a level 60 priest asked me to duel him. He said pretty please and told me he wanted to see if a spell would work on a warlock. Stupidly, I said okay, you know, thinking "for the Horde" and all that. He made me run off the tower and I've never trusted priests since.

I am 60 btw, and sometimes when trying to get on an FP I get real angry cause it's not working, then I realize I'm mounted and it even spammed it like 10 times in red bold color in the middle of the screen.

Sad ain't it?

=(

My first character was a shaman. I played him to level 12, and was about to enter The Barrens. I do so, and discover some level 17-23 Lizards. Got scared, deleted my Shaman and created a new Shaman. (Same class). I did that exactly 4 times before I got help there.

That's not being a newb. That's being a complete idiot.

arent n00bs complete idiots anyway?

Luckilywhen i started playing i had a lvl 24 friend who told me things but still stuff happened...

hmm let me see my first one i can remember is after getting sea lion (druid) swimming out to somwhere deep in fatigue then running out there with ghost and getting blown up (fatigue gone) then i asked a guildie whats happening he tells me i go aah then he says to rezz so i run out there again... to get to my corpse ofcourse i get blown up then i ask how i rezz he says graveyard so im at the graveyard running around like a headless chook looking for the "ressurect" option then i ask how do i rezz at graveyard so he says spirit healer so i stand there waiting to rezz an nothing happens ofcourse.

another...

running into the middle of BG at lv 10 killing another lvl 10 dancing on his corpse and having a 19 warrior charge at me i forgot to say i had the flag he killed me returned flag they scored i got kicked outta raid group so i was wandering around minlessly happen to get there flag again... i sit there running from EVERY1 i see keeping the flag off evry1 cause i thought they could kill me...

another is when i was a lvl 12 i as running around at West fall avoiding the yellows that where lvl 19 thinking they could kill me...

bveing a lvl 20 druid camping a lvl 5 orc thinking if i keep camping him i will get LOTS of honour killing him over and over and over then suddenly a lvl 60 shaman walks up goes PvP plants a totem and starts camping me...

While starting my first VC group, we had 4 people and someone said that we just need a tank. So I said, "Don't warlocks make good tanks?".

Apparently, WARlocks are different from WARriors.

What i didn't know was that you can use [ALT] + [Arrows] to move the cursor in the chat window.
[ALT] + [left arrow] or [right arrow] to move left or right and [ALT] + [up arrow] or [down arrow] to see the last few lines that you posted in the chat.

.....

Wow, I've been playing on and off for like a year and I didn't know that. Thanks.

When I got my troll rogue to Sen'Jin village, i saw this fishing trainer and thought "why not?". So i spend some copper on learning the fishing skill and a fishing rod. I was never able to catch something. So after trying for the tenth time, not catching anything again and completely bewildered, I destroy my fishing rod.
At lvl 26 I pick up alchemy (I did have professions before that) and notice that there are potions for which you need fish(blackmouth oil, giant growth elixir). Crap. So, a bit desperate, I buy another fishing rod. Again, I'm unable to catch anything.
Then, while the bobber was on the water, I noticed you could click on it. So I did and it gave me the message "No fish are attached to you fishing pole." So I try fishing again, and I notice the bobber moving this time, click on it, and get the message "Your fish escaped"(smthing like that).
That's when I started to get the picture. You actually have to click on the bobber while fishing!!
I spent another 15 min fishing in Ratchet with a fishing skill of 1, after which I complain in general chat that the fish are way too fast. Some guy kindly advised me to get a fishing skill of 50 at the pond in orgrimmar
:-] (first post weeeh)

Well, when I was a noob I saw the chat box and saw the conversation. It was in general chat. I join in the chat but had no clue you had to type in /1 first. Needless to say today I feel stupid :) I thought you had to get to be a city guard before you got to talk in the general chat color >.<

Hah, this thread is so entertaining...

I was all excited to level up my first hunter (a NE, bleh), so I could have a pet...so I spent a few days (yeah, I take forever XD) getting to the required level, doing the quests, and then I spent even more time trying to tame a cat. when I finally did it, I was sooo proud of myself, and went running around with it...until it suddenly disappeared. I freaked and almost wanted to cry, I thought it was some sort of horrible bug. But eventually someone told me I was supposed to feed it to keep it happy.

Needless to say, now I always make sure to have a lot of food on me when I tame a pet on my troll hunter. XD

this was when i was first starting out up to about 2 weeks ago: i dint know that you could find out what the ore yourt tracking was by holding the cursor over the "blip" on the map so i would run to every blip and get dissapointed realise it was just copper

Ok, not done by me, but a friend of mine didn't realise you could scroll down in the talent window. Was almost lvl 40 before he realised and was running out of places to put his points.

My one was winding up a beggar by putting 10g in the trade window, then accidently pressing trade instead of cancel and not noticing. It was all the gold I had :(

Or, remapping my keys on my lock, whilst waiting in Deadmines for another party member, then shouting at people when we wiped because they were fearing mobs before realising I'd remapped fear to my shadowbolt button.
