Stories of Newbness (no n00bness)Follow

When I first heard about PvP I had been using my troll hunter, and decided to try it out. I think she was around level 28-29. Note that I had no idea what PvP actualy stood for a the time. All I knew was that it gave honor, and you could gain ranks from it.
I was in Stonetalon and flagged myself then killed that level 30 Gnome with the lantern that is right before Windshear Crag since it said he was "PvP". I looked in my honor log and wondered why I didn't get anything for killing him. So I turned my flag off, waited for him to spawn, and did it again. After the third time, my kills stayed at 0 and I went to the WoW site to read about PvP. Then went "Oh" when I discovered you only received honor for killing other players, not the NPCs.

I didn't realise until Lvl 42 that you actually had to manually learn your pet the new abilities through spending his training points (I thought you just bought them from the pet trainer, and that was all there was to it). I always wondered why my bear had trouble holding aggro ;D

When I was level 17, I got bored and wanted to check out Darnassus. Not realising the only passage across the sea was via boat (for Alliance), I ran to the western side of Westfall, jumped into the water, calculated an approx. angle to the island, hit Num Lock, got out of my chair and made myself a sandwich (figured it'd take at least 10-15 minutes to reach my destination at the pace I was swimming at). It was to my surprise then, when I came back to find myself laying dead in the water not too far off the Westfall coast.

Ive got one that came with a benefit

I was rolling a Tauren Hunter and had just got my second pet (a raptor) and wanted to test him all over the barrens. SO i start looking for something to do and found one of the really small doored tents in the north near durotar. I went in to the tent and when i tried to get out, i got stuck. So while my raptor wanders as i flail in the doorway the following conversation takes place between me and my guild leader:

Me: OMG IM STUCK!!!!
GL: Where, how and in what?
Me: I went into a goblin house and im a Tauren and I got stuck!!!!
GL: Dude calm down, just use the autohelp thing
Me: The what
GL: The game has a autohelp feature for when you get stuck. Just use it.
Me: OMG DUDE THATS AWESOME!!!!
GL: Calm down its just a standard feature.
Me: No, not that. My raptor was wandering because I was movin around and now hes stuck with his head poking out of my A$$!!!
GL: ROTFLMAO
GL has just promoted Tel to Officer!
Me: THANKS!!! What was that for!
GL: For your awesome digestive problems!!
Me: LOL I got promoted cuz i shat a raptor!!!

That was the most awesome thing ever. I found out about the autohelp features and became an officer in the guild i still roll with and am now a General in that very guild. See sometimes it helps to be a newb.

At first when i started wow i got to lvl 18 before i started using talent points on my warrior.. Then i take Imp rend and start taking tactical mastery in the beleif that(with my bad english at the time) by retain they mean i can get that amount of rage if i switch stances at the right time. I then find out i cant and respec where i take imp thunderclap instead only to find out later on that Tactical mastery is a must:S. Also one of my friends was playing and he asked me how to pause the game lol.

i have a few, #1: wandering is never a good idea, i wandered up the river deviding duoatar and the barrens and ran into a water fall, thats not the worst one, i wandered around the water fall and continued into ashenvale... at level 15! and thats where i found my rivel, a night elf that shanked me in the back, after i reached like 29 i found him in the battle grounds and ive been trying to kill him ever since

Lol, good posts everyone.

This was not to long ago. i was around lvl 15 or something and discovered the ship that went to booty bay. I then decided to see how many places i could discover for some exp. I couldnt make it through those pirates outside BB so i took a swim, little did i know it was a very long swim. I remember seeing a tip pop up talking about how i was pvp now which i had no idea what it meant(seriously this was my first character on MMORPG) I think i ended up in wetlands or something just traveling down the road happily with alliance coming up to me lol and spitting. before i new it i was dead, lol.

On my first character ever, an orc warrior named blood monger I started climbing the hills confused near the starting area... I managed to get over, fall in the ocean and get killed by some creatures. I then proceeded to swim, die, swim, die, till I got to ratchet... I was so confused and eventually hearthed.

i started as a orc warrior, took me about 8 playing hours 2 get lvl 10, jst by walking around and killing sum beasts, no qsts

a guy told me it was faster 2 do questing, he also asked how i was walking.....
i said i used the arrow-keys.............
he asking me how i used action-buttons
me: i click on it with the mouse

after that is started walking with w s d a q e and use 1 2 3 4 5 6 for action-buttons

i deleted my orc coz i jst didnt want to stay all my life in that ugly desert (not knowing i would get away ther soon)

i started a undead rogue, at the time i was lvl 26 i was walking in UC and saw a warsong emissionary, i talked 2 him, and joined queue for WSG, b4 that i only heard ppl talking about BG's not knowing how 2 join em and @ what lvl i could join

another stupid thing was when i was in SM lib, @ the houndmaster all my partymembers died except me and i killed the last dog (alrdy killed houndmaster), i looted his corpse not knowing that the rest of my party couldnt loot thn. (hmm, so thats also why i didnt get a chance 2 loot stuff @ final bosses when im dead)

i asked alotta stuff in city when i heard ppl say WTS, WTB, LFG, LFM, WC, so i asked em what it ment, now when i c ppl asking that 2 i thnk......i also was like that sum time ago, and thn i jst nicely answer ^^

I didn't realize I could respawn at the graveyard and got frustrated from dieing over and over so I restarted at level 10.

I also didn't know that the bank slots were free until level 15 on my next character. I thought the "pay for additional bag spaces" ment you had to put bags there.

woe is me.

I so desperately wanted to be a member of the "AFK" guild - they had so many members and were always hanging out at FPs! I kept trying to chat to members of the AFK guild but no-one ever responded...
maybe one day

I was a level 13 Troll Mage with herbalism. This was on a server where (5)swiftness potion were selling for 2 gold. So spent a week getting herbs and raising my skill. I still needed the recipe and read online that you could either get it as a drop or buy it at the cart in Westfall. I had no idea about Westfall being an alliance territory so I took the boat from Barrens and tried to walk my way to Westfall. All the lvl 30-40 players thought I was crazy. I got killed about ten times from random monsters until I made my way to the cart and tried to buy the potion from the dealer. Of course they all killed me as soon as I got within several yards. It was so depressing.

So many stories...

At level 8 I began wanding a lvl ?? dwarf right outside UC. Didn't end too well.

My favorite:

Around lvl 27 an experienced friend told me that I should go throught SFK. Having no idea what general chat was and never being in an instance before, I waited outside using /say "looking for someone to go in shadowfang keep". lol

I eventually gave up after a few minutes with no success so i decided to enter alone only to find the pretty dragons on the mobs' names. I attacked without hesitation. /pwned.

But dont worry, noobitis is curable.

I sat there for probably 10 minutes after I aquired the ability to conjure Lesser Soulstones staring blankly at the talent description because I didn't frickin' understand what the hell they were talking about.

"wtf?? How the hell do you store someone's soul if they are still alive? w--w----WHHHAT? um...okay.."

Yeah, I can be pretty dense sometimes. Fast forward to the first time a priest asked me to "stone" them before a big fight...couldn't quite grasp the concept of TARGET THE GUY AND USE THE STONE ON HIM...so I sat there like "well how do I store da soul in da stone omgz" and in the end...I stoned myself. gg.

I think this actually qualifies as a "noob" moment...it's pretty bad.
