On my very first character, I couldn't figure out how the chat channels worked.

So needless to say, I went a long time without talking to anybody.

I was a mage, I knew you can buy these spells when you level up, but I didn't understand all this different types of water I can conjure. The water I had didn't relace all the mana and I (a mage) actually bought the various liquids for mana reproduction and thought that quests were staring to be expensive until I realized that the different waters had different mana values. (sigh of illumination)

Also I didn't realize that you can press 'T' and begin to fight. I was casting fireballs and just standing there with my hands at my sides. I wondered what the sword was for.

One I explored the underground in Karazhan in ghost form but couldn't find the way out as everything was all grey. I was going to petition a GM but found the exit. You can't hearthstone as a ghost.

Also in ghost form you can still fall of a cliff and go oooh! Also you can still fatigue and end up in a grave yard in ghost form.

Extreme lag caused a double post. Live with it.

1) When I was level 10 I stealth-traveled from Merchant's Coast all the way to the very ede of the marsh. (Dust wallow, I believe.) Then found out that level thirty mobs hit harder than level thirteen mobs.

2)In ashenvale I was stuck inside a pit of doom. (Quite literally.) I was traveling in ghost form after having been ganked by yet another gnome. Thought I could take a short-cut and fell into a hole that had nothing but slanted sides at the base of a tree. I spent a good hour or so there before I asked a GM for help. Another hour passed, I had gotten no help. So I decided to jump until my character actually lodged itself into the side of the tree. (Glitch.) Then I was able to leap to the side and get out. How was that being a newbie? I actually figured a GM would help me.

(Don't need remarks on them being busy. I know they are, but it was still wishful thinking that I'd get some help.)

3) Rofl, I'm humiliated at this one. Sold a stack of Deviates for 1 gold. Later found out it was worth 6-7g depending on how well the market was doing. -Sigh- Never did get a refund. ;-;

one of my most bad noob moments was my first time in WC, and it was my first experience to what a ninja looter is,i hadnt really partied with people yet just soloing, so i didnt know all about the loot system yet

so we are going through and i keep seeing people just not rolling need for stuff, so im like hell yeah people dont want this crappy stuff, more for me i thought, this must be my lucky day

and that was my first time ninja looting, and i didnt even know what it was yet, but it was cool though, 3 of my party members believed me and explained why u dont choose need on every item, and they explained to me what a ninja looter was, and they forgave me, didnt even really flame me and start being gay and callin me a noob

unfortunately one party member thought i was tryin to run a scam, and was a actuall ninja looter, he was hella pissed

this happened when i was around the level it is recommened to do WC, i forgot what is, 18 or soemthing, anyway, time passes and im like 40 something, and iw as getting ready to do Scarlet monastery for one of the last times

anyway, so happens that same guy that got pissed joined our group, and starts telling everyone im a ninja looter, and i was like wtf are u talking about, cause i ofcourse forgot about a little beginning player mistake i did, and hes like ur a ninja, u took some armor back in WC, and i started to laugh sayin he needs to get over it and it was a mistake, so he leaves the party and i go on doing Scarlet MOnastery

wow, some people just dont get over a simple mistake

My friend had given me 50 light leathers, and I sold them without turning them into a Leatherkit and wasted those skill levels.

I've seen what you look like. It's all over the internet. Which actually wouldn't be a surprise when you consider the moral decay of those who spend countless hours on the internet.

This would also include me. Seeing as how I've been prowling these forums all day when I should be leveling up my alts. >.>

Another instance of newbieness: So level 60 Alliance rogues don't like it when you flare them. Just found that out and I've been through three hunters. >.> (Did it on my level 30. Got pretty much owned-ed. Too bad it was on a different server than my main. =/ His friends showed up after that [Who were in a lesser level range] I'm pretty sure I could have taken them with my Level 60 - pvp Geared Hunter. But then again there's always the odd chance that I could have lost. /sigh)

And I tried pronouncing your Email address. Cracked up.

I wasn't insulting it, I swear. I think it's kinda cute. Like a puppy. Or a starving orphan. Especially a starving orphan.

Ive got a real n00b story, I was an avid City of Heroes player when I first heard of WoW…since I loved CoH so much I decided to see what WoW had to offer..so I purchased and created a Night Elf hunter, played for about a weekend…I was used to the ways CoH was setup..there wasn’t much you needed to know just start the game and play..where as WoW you have backpacks, professions, instances, AH, flight paths..and just so much more…intimidation got the best of me and I didn’t even make it out of the n00b zone…as a matter of fact after that weekend I decided it was the worst game ever made and tossed it!..bam! 50 bucks down the drain….months later I started a new job and one of the guys I worked with told me that he played, we talked and tried explaining this to me..so I decided to pick it up again and give another shot…caching! Another 50 bucks spent…even with this guys help with money, bags, showing me what FP’s were,how to obtain quest and professions, but I still wasn’t understanding it….. I got a human warrior up to lvl 9…still the intrest wasn’t there…a couple months later I moved into my buddies place…at this point I had put WoW down again because of the release of City of Villians…played that for about a month and maxed my toon out and found myself not wanting to go through that again, oh the grind is soo bad in that game…so I said hey! 3rd times a charm right? Went to install WoW, but could not find my discs..bam! 50 bucks down the drain again…so then went out a 3rd time and bought WoW..and for whatever reason this time everything clicked…I haven’t put the game down since December..even got a few friends of mine into it…this is now hands down my favorite game…

o/` Ohhhh, I'm a newbie...

1) Thought I could get away with one WoW account to share between my kid and I. Waiting to play sucks. Cha-ching! Blizzard makes beaucoup bucks off our family.

2) Junked all those meaty bat wings and stringy wolf meats I picked up early on and never levelled cooking. Now I'm an L31 rogue who can't make thistle tea. *sniff*

3) Didn't realize I had to do a special quest to get poisons. Finally finished it last week (at L30).

4) I usually play solo, so I haven't done any instances. Finally started going through WC at L30 so I could get some deviate scales. Still haven't finished an instance. -_-;;

5) One of my co-workers who plays WoW told me about some high level elite mob on the way to somewhere that I might want to avoid. I could have sworn he said Undercity and didn't go there until I was like L15. Turns out he was talking about Silverpine Forest and Son of Arugal.

6) I thought you had to finish a quest before you could get a new one...ewps. My kid showed me The Full QuestLog of Doom. I was schooled by a 14-year-old. *blush*

I'm sure I have plenty more (some can be found in my handful of posts here), and I'll have plenty more before all's said and done. I'm learning a lot from the forums and am happy they're here.

Oh oh oh oh..I know another one! If this counts. So I got my rogue up to level 50 and still had never been to SFK. Not only had I not been there by that level I dodn't even know where it was. /Slap. LoL. After creating my fourth toon and getting her to level 22 my buddy took me there and ran me through it twice.

And the award for biggest newb goes to....

My brother and I share an account, which is strange cuz he pays for the entire thing. I think i got the good end of the deal :). Anyways, when we started playing WoW, I made a warrior and he made a druid. I was watching him play one day, and i noticed when he sat down to drink, he would click the drink icon, watch his char sit down and take a sip, then my brother would make him stand up and start the process over. He did this about 20 times. I started laughing and told him that to rest successfully he had to stay sitting, and that his mana would recover over time while he was drinking. He laughed and called me a noob.

Nowdays he claims this never happend.
He still calls me the noob :(
