Well... they changed all the spell icons. DUH. Were these broken??
If you want the OLD icons, do the following:
1. Copy these files from uifiles/default_old to uifiles/hybred
gemicons01.tga
gemicons02.tga
gemicons03.tga
spells01.tga
spells02.tga
spells03.tga
spells04.tga
spells05.tga
spells06.tga
spells07.tga
You did make a backup copy like Sony told you, right??
VOILA! New look, old icons.

Like the old stlye hotbuttons? They do indicate which set of buttons you have up, after all. This is the old style, 2 colums of 5 buttons.

perfect! Just tried this out and its exactly what I wanted.
One note: You don't have to make a backup folder before patching. It does this for you during the patch. It automatically creates the folder default_old.
Got my spells gems/buff icons back to normal and the good ol 2X5 hotkey bar!

I like the size of new icons in bar but not the graphics, wish I could have old icons but new size
all you have to do to get the old skin back is type
/loadskin deafult_old in one of your chat windows that will get back to the old skin.
oh and the hotbars ar about 40% smaller and so is everything else i like the old skin with the new sizes

Awesome thanks! I couldn't stand not being able to identify my spells - you just get used to having Brell's as a pink heart!

Wow...that works nicely. The fancy curlicues on the windows are annoying, but everything is scaled down slightly which helps viewing area.

anyone got a link to the file needed to make the bank with the expanded slots?
i ran a search in the defaultUI eq directory for "bank" and it gave me a few files, however, one when i replace it in my custom UI causes EQ to just "crash out" another totaly returns my UI to default.
i used this to fix my guild window, i went to default UI and searched for "guild" that gave me a couple files that i just draged and droped into my custom UI and now the guild window works, but i can't get my bank to work :-(

Did it. Long ago. I have the old icons in my spellbook. I don't know if it is actually the old spellbook, tho.

You can. As long as you have the new buff window, the icons will be the smaller size.
