When does the next expansion come out?Follow

Not that I can really make use of it since I still haven't reached level cap in the current expansion!

I just wondered how long I had to make up for lost ground...

February 2011 was what they stated at Fan Faire. Level cap is not being raised either so you're safe there. :) We have a Destiny of Velious page and update it whenever there's something new released (not much yet unfortunately!).

(Never actually adventure-capped a character before)

It's actually harder to reach AA cap than it is to reach level cap. Make sure as you continue to get XP you get as much AA along the way as you can get, so you don't have so much AA grinding to do once you hit level cap. Which is what I'm currently doing right now. =/

This is very true! I put myself at 100% AA at level 85 and finished up Kunark, ran Moors and finished up Sundered Frontier before leveling up again. Definitely worth it to take a step back and smell the roses sometimes. :)

I usually stop levelling myself and grind out a few aa's. Usually about 10 aa's per level, I suppose. Then I get bored and wanna level again. Hehe.

I'm a bit worried at running out of quests. I'm doing the L89 & L90 quests in Sundered Frontier, and have been doing quests a couple of levels above my adventure for some time. I just want to make sure I hit cap.

I just checked on the EQ2 web site, and have apparently spent 768 AA points so far. Can't be right - but I am doing ok for AAs.

Have you auto-mentored down and gone back to do quests that have been added since you passed those areas in levels? Like all the new KoS quests, Butcherblock (though not too many were added here), newbie zones, Lavastorm and Everfrost were revamped a year or so ago, etc. Also the Heroes' Festival is still going through tomorrow night and Frostfell starts on 12/9, so lots of world event quests to do as well. :)

edit: My problem is the opposite--I can hit the adventure cap long before running out of content. For me it's all about revisiting places I never bothered with or were changed after leveling past them.

I'll finally have a chance to level up a few straglling alts instead of always pushing my mains to the next tier :D yay!

There is several ways to get AA. Some just max out their level and then go do every quest, kill every namer, run every zone they possibly can. Mentor lower level folks and help them, chrono down and do the lower level quests and zones, killing those namers. Some just go AE grind someplace for what seems like endless hours of mindless painfull AA grindage. Some folks as already stated level lock, and just get as much AA as they can before they level too high. The best way to do it is most likely the last example I cited. But at least for me, I can't handle level locking too long. Far too short of attention span for that.

I also have been doing something else for AA. My main a 90 SK got to max level a long long time ago, and have been dual boxing alts from my second account helping them do quests, run zones, kill namers all that good stuff. From what I understand you get added XP for mentoring, so my SK benefits that way. My alts get added XP for being mentored. So they benefit that way. And I'm able to run darn near every zone in the game dual boxing up to around level 70 fairly easily. So I've been gaining loot, and helping gear out my alts with masters, and gear, while selling all the other stuff on the broker, making my income. For me at least thats been far less painless to gain AA. Just about there too, just a handful of AA points to go and I'm done. Then it will be time to rinse and repeat with my 90 Defiler, as he needs AA pretty bad. =)

One other tip I can give is not to run around exploring until your at least level 10, as you don't gain any AA for exploration disco until then. No reason to waste AA doing things you can get credit for once you turn 10+.

Hope this helps someone.
