Are you neat & tidy or loose & sloppy?Follow

In game I mean! Do you keep your bank boxes and character bags organized or do you just let the drops fall where they may?

Personally I am almost compulsive about it. OK, so it's not really almost! I have all my bags and boxes labeled and organized by what I keep in them. Shared bank boxes are the worst! There is so much that can be shared among alts it seems like I am always looking for a better way to organize things.

At first the thread title made me a bit Smiley: dubious but I eventually caught on.

With my personal inventory I tend to lean more neat & tidy but still most bags tend to be a potpourri of things. My shared banks tend to be a bit more sloppy, since I don't camp to alts immediately to grab items that I place in there, those boxes can get full pretty quick of crafted food, heirloom gear, adepts for other classes, appearance items that I can't decide who gets it, so on and so on.

Now if my guildy would get to making me that tinkered harvestor depot that would free up so much space I would wet myself. Ooops I already did. Smiley: frown

Eh, I'm so-so. The first bag or box in my bank holds the stuff I might use daily, usually stuff for crafting. The rest of the boxes are just a mess. I really need to go through them and organize because I'm so sick of buying an advanced crafting book only to find I already had it in the bank, it was just buried in with a bunch of other crap.

I try to keep my stuff well organized. For example I have several bags of stuff to Transmute, divided between gear and spell books, sorted (mostly) by level, with empty slots between levels. Obtaining harvester bags helps, so I don't have to shuffle materials while oot and aboot. But I also have a bag full of random quest items, half of them grey level, half of them not even started.

I used to be tidy, way back, but in more recent years I just gave up on trying to keep everything organised (for instance, trying to keep all the shapeshifting items together, which over the years have acccumulated a bit much and now I don't bother anymore).

Now, everything is properly organised where I put it, no need for any real order in it.

At first I was like Smiley: eek, but then I was like Smiley: laugh.

I'll let the picture speak for itself. This was after my recent mega bank purge when I switched to sumac boxes.

My hyper organization

Smiley: grin I can't fathom finding anything without hyper organization. My characters that hoard holiday/festival house items are even crazier, everything has to be together with its own kind, preferably with the same amount of items for similar types (6 large black candles, 6 small purple candles, 20 etched snowflakes, 20 ornate snowflakes.. etc).

I'm just amazed that I managed to finally have a bag empty! Wonder how that happened... Smiley: lol

Need bigger bags...

Welcome to MMO hell!!!

Seriously, since you already have alt-itus, make a carpenter (for bank boxes) and a tailor (for bags).

Admitedly there are lots of other things these crafters can and will make for your toons but having access to cheap bags & boxes always pays off right freaking now!

Luckily my guild has tailors and carpenters to make all the 40-slots I need. Didn't realize you could label containers though!

Cyl, that's insane. A few weeks ago one of our guild leaders went crazy and reorganized the guild banks but never came anywhere near that kind of order!

Thanks, I think! ;) I usually end up re-organizing our guild bank all the time, too. Silly people don't know that red shiny collections go on the bottom two rows, common collections on the top two, L&L pieces should be ordered by race and descending by number of parts in there... Smiley: grin

To rename a bag or strongbox, open it up, right-click and choose "Bag Options". Then toss whatever label you want on it! I just like making mine perty. :)

I finally got my tinkering high enough to make my Personal Harvest Depot. I spent about an hour moving all my hoarded rares and raws to it, then going back and forth between the bank and my vault moving all the holiday stuff, lol.

I'm closer to Cyl but without as much stuff (or the nice boxes).

My shared bank holds collectibles (first bag). As each alt goes through them and takes what she can use, she moves the gray stuff up toward the top. After all alts have been through them, the alt who originally dumped the stuff in gets to put the leftovers on the broker.

Second box holds L&L stuff, same deal.

Third box holds treasured items that were too good to vendor or transmute immediately. After everyone has had a chance to pick over them, they get 'muted.

Fourth box holds advanced pages. When an alt gets high enough in that trade to use it (or to see that it's redundant), she puts any leftovers on the broker.

Fifth box, spell books.

Sixth box, shared (mostly holiday) trade goods.

Seventh box, stuff my alts made for each other (so sweet!).

The remaining space is mostly spillover from 3-5, because I haven't gotten around to getting bigger boxes. Smiley: glare

They're also a dumping ground for when I'm in a hurry, but I try to keep them fairly sorted.

GUILTY!!! Loose and sloppy. lol

I do keep spell upgrades and tradeskill advanced books all in their own bags though... :)

Of course, my alt guild is leveling up slowly, at 23 now, so I'm starting to stockpile status reduction items for the guild hall... My main and my carpenter alt have absolutely no empty bank orvault slots already, and starting on a 3rd toons bank... lol
