hi all. well my wife has finally decided to join me playing EQ2, and she's dead set on playing a sorcerer (then probably wizard). we made toons on BB server a long time ago and tried to pick them back up, she was a 16 sorcerer, and I have a 16 crusader, well I couldn't keep agro off her to save my life. even when i would spam taunt non stop she kept agro, and essentially killed the mob herself because my gear sucked and the crusader seemed to lack major DPS.

i'm curious what the opinion is on the best class to duo with her would be. i have a brawler i'm taking to monk that i'm thinking of using, wondering if the better DPS will help, or if i should go with some type of scout class. i want to do melee, i at least know that, playing a priest in WoW for so long, i just have the urge to hack, slash, and bash something.

just looking for opinions...thx

A paladin would be great actually because you can heal as well as hit.

The problem with agro is not just you, your wife has to learn to use her powers sparingly and always make sure you have agro before she nukes anything. Agro is a shared responsibility.

Things will die slower than if she just blasted away but at least you'll both live Smiley: smile

Yes, as the previous poster stated, a tank is not the only one that is responsible for aggro management.. it is everyones duty.

Its just as much duty for your wife to UNDER aggro you as it is for you to over aggro her.

A few ways to make this easier on your part is upgrade key abilities.

Upgrade the most commonly used combat art.. Upgrade all your taunts to, at the very minimum, apprentice IV. Later levels(like either 30 or 40) you may even want to upgrade them to Adept III.

I would say a nice combo with a sorcerer could also be a summoner... But if you are already having trouble with aggro.. I wouldnt recommend this.
With Wizard and Summoner you pretty well have a healer, tank, and 2 dmg dealer.

I think your best bet would be to stick with pld... So you can tank and heal when necessary,

Another possiblity is a fury. they can heal and do dmg.
