I just finished getting all the trick or treat masks and man does it feel good. Thought Id offer some tips in cse anyone was interested for the NQ area. If you can, get someone to SOW you as well as grabbing a sow totem. Stacked together your speed will be running at 40%. If you have a horse I still suggest this only because manuvering a horse in some of the buildings is a pain in the ***. I tried it.

The goblin starts at the claymore in NQ. I've been trying all ways of doing this, from getting every single NPC in NQ to just running to the clusters of people as many times as I can. Keep in mind each NPC will only give you a treat once every 3-4 minutes. I started around the claymore, worked up to the castle, then to the gaming building, swung back hit up the folks on top of the hill, rgabbed the guards, broker, bank, jewler, and mender areas. Each building I chose had anough people to make it worthwhile plus by the time I did that round the timer would be up for the first NOC I hit and I could redo the circuit.

Keep in mind that you also have to deal with luck. There's no set pattern to whether youre going to get a trick or a treat, and if you get the treats the goblin wnats. I did the round about 4 times and I got anything from 93-122 points per run. You need a minimum of 100 points if you're looking for the Antonia and Lucan masks.

Anyways Im glad Sony put in some entertaining quests for halloween. I've only been back in the game for a couple of weeks but I am enjoying myself thouroughly. GL!

You may need to reload your video driver.

Do you crash in any other zones?

The priest area with the flying saucer is a good place to visit as well, the saucer is a fast zone in and out. There are maybe 10 NPC's altogether, inside and out.

I'm a summoner, so needless to say I have no run enhancements except for sprint. Anywho, I tried it twice the most I was ever able to get was 44 pts. I gave up after that out of frustration.

I did do the haunted house though. That was fun until I zoned out and got stuck in the door outside. That was NO fun. Had to use my call of Qeynos to get unstuck.

Did anyone buy any of the goodies that the gobblin was selling? I bought all the jack-o-lanterns, the pumkin and the bat on a chain and made my room nice and halloweeny.

I bought multiple pumkins and bats. I love that stuff. I have really enjoyed this whole event. Someone recently complained somewhere that EQ2 had no sense of humor. Hogwash! I thought the whole event was humerous and showed a lot of planning.

I wasn't able to complete the trick or treat either and may try again. I wasn't sure if zoning into the saucer would take you out of the zone though. I will try that. Thanks

I bought one of each of the goblin's items.

I was able to get the first two masks (cat and goblin) fairly easily with just sprint, but I couldn't manage to get more. I didn't realise the NPC's reset after 3 minutes ((Thank you Lady D.!) so I ran it again and got 80 points and earned the hatchet in my head. Somehow, I love that thing and I wear it all the time outside of fighting. The other item offered for 80 points was the black eye mask.

Regarding how much fun this event has been...

I remember the annual Halloween events from EQ and I think the EQ2 version is SOOOO much better.

The EQ event always centered around armys of undead creatures leaving their graves at sundown and ravaging the low level zones like commonlands and Qeynos Hills. Well, you can call me crazy, but being attacked by roving gangs of lvl 35+ large diameter aggro mobs as a lvl 12 noob is not my idea of a good time!

In my first year in EQ, during my first Halloween fest, I quickly learned to stop adventuring every day at sundown, head for town and tradeskill until daylight. While the higher level players were gloating in /ooc about the latest uber drop, I was cowering in front of a forge or sitting on the floor of the bank with my fletching kit open and trying to pass the time until it was safe to venture out again.

The following year, my characters were all high enough level to hold their own against the nightly skellie invasion but since they always appeared in large groups, fighting them solo was still pretty much undoable. So at sundown, I just tended to head for a zone where they weren't!

I much prefer events that are fun to do at any level and not just for full groups of mid to upper classmen.

Oh, yeah... I also bought a full set of items from the gobbo at the door to the haunted house. Took them home and spruced up the place with them! Only won 2 of the masks so far but I will probably try for some more.

And one more thing... I love that the pumpkins that decorate the home villages are movable, (like the boxes in Splitpaw). Even if some goof did pick up every pumpkin in Willow Wood the other night and pile them all on the counter in the bank!

It is fun to have the option to leave some effect on the enviornment and to be able to "adjust" some of the things around you.

That this event is so scalable to your level is awesome. I also remember the EQ events. I think the last time I got involved (not on a purpuse) I was attempting to go from Qeynos to Halas via BB. I got snuffed once and then several times afterward just trying to get my corpse. Finally a high level took pitty on me and kept me alive and safe long enough to get the hell out of Dodge. It never made sense why they would put such events in the middle of newb zones to begin with.

This really is an incredible game on the whole. Oh yah, they have had a few bumps and grinds but I think it's worth it.

So has anyone had the zombie jump out and scare you during random times of play? I was in my house the other day and it happened twice. Scared me half to death I even screamed. All I was doing was working on my merch getting it ready to sell for the night when the zombie popped up. The next day it did it aain at a totally different time. No matter that youve had it done before the suddeness will always scare eyou

I have had this happen to me and it was even scarier then when in the haunted house. I think it's linked to your "scare" crow. If you have him in the house and have won him by completing the haunted house, then I think he triggers it randomly...thus giving him his name Smiley: wink2

This is right on the money. What cracks me up is the fact that the zombie doesn't just jump out... he sidles into vision, then does the oogie-boogie dance. =^_^=

Edit: Fixed a bad tag

now that it's after halloween do you think with having the scarecrow in your house the zombie will continue to pop out at you? While I would find it amusing after my heart stopped pounding a mile a minute I wonder if Sony would keep that up continually

With all this talk of Scare Tactics, I'm too chicken to spend too much time in my room. I think that crow is eyeballing me...
