I have some recipies for blackened iron items and for cured leather items but cant seem to find the basic recipies for blackened iron bar and for cured leather strip. What books do I need to look for to get these basic recipies?

You are looking for Advanced Outfitter Refining Volume 11. The advanced refining volumes are usually hard to find and ALWAYS the most expensive. Check the broker(s). This book on my server seems to be the most abundant refining volume of all the trades, so you shouldn't have much to worry about. It usually sells for around 1g or so.

Thanks much for the info. I take it then that this volume is not one sold by the vendors in the crafting zones, but is a drop that I need to look for at the broker?
