Making maps for zones that have noneFollow

#1 Oct 10 2005 at 3:53 PM Rating: Decent
I was in a beeg group the other day, and this guy was leading us through Fallen Gate on his map that he got off the internet and i was just wondering if someone could explain how to get the map onto ur mapview. like what i need to turn the files into and where to put them and stuff?

I know this could get complicated just try to tell me and i'll figure it out from there..

Thanks Psy

It isn't as complicated as you might think. The people at eq2interface.com have made an excellent installer and map auto-updater. Just go to http://maps.eq2interface.com/ and download and install EQ2MAP. Enjoy!

To slightly amplify on klyia's great link, once installed you start your playing by launching the map auto-updater. You will then download any new maps and any new points of interest (POI) that have been submitted by other players.

Then EQ2 will start (auto launch selected) and you will have the new maps and all the points. When you view a map, you can mouse-over a point to get a "tool-tip" that shows the info for that point.

Everytime I log on, I get at least a dozen new points for my maps. And with DoF, I've been getting entire maps of that region, too.

It's a must-have for any player, new or old. :)

Edited for spelling

Ok did anyone else have a problem when they load the program to update it throws an error ( X ) message saying to make sure the STA is set or else the OLE can't get through?

Posted on the forum on the site but got no suggestions or anything?
