Healer MoB's Overpowered?Follow

Has anyone else noticed that when priest type mobs are involved in a fight it becomes much harder, to the point of imbalance?

I can solo yellow no arrow single MoB's without too much trouble. However, if said MoB is a healer of any sort I tend to run out of power before it dies, at which point it's health starts rising while mine just drops. If a healer is part of a group of MoB's, the fight will go on much longer than otherwise.

While soloing in the Trial of Harclave (God I love that buff...) I see the healer types lasting about twice as long as any others.

Being a Templar, I can assure you that I do NOT last twice as long as the rest of a group in the event I get aggro. Something is out of whack here and needs to be tuned, IMHO. Maybe they're not getting as many interrupts as I do...

I might post this on the official boards too.

Harder yes, imbalanced, no... at least not in my opinion.

These mobs do what priests do... they heal! I was up against one in EL last night - a goblin medic, and had to dish out a total of more than 3000 points of dmg, (according to my trusty Combat Stats mini-display), before I finally dropped him. Fight lasted several minutes... may have been more than 5... I was kinda busy and didn't check the clock!

I think it is all part of "mob behaviour and logic V2.0"

According to SOE, mobs no longet dump their power in the first few ticks of the fight, they now do what is needed as it is needed. The gobbo I mentioned only threw an occasional nuke and horded his power throughout the encounter, never over medicating - but tossing off a solid heal every time he dipped down into the orange or red.

My method for dealing with these guys, (or gnoll shamen or fairie wardens or any other mob healer), is to bide my time and wait them out. Let them drain their reserves and when their power is gone, close in for the kill with chained HO's till death do us part!

Healer mobs were always tough, more so now I lost my power drain. The best strategy to use is to save your stuns/interupt type stuff you have, if any, until you see them casting at low health.

Overall though I dont see an imbalanced, they do what a healer would do, attack until they are low on health and then heal/ward. If you think one is hard, try a group with 2, it is almost impossible.

If you think healer mobs are hard as a Templar, try fighting one as a Guardian! Hahaha. No thanks. If I get ambitious and decide to take on a group of mobs, I search for the healer first. If there are two in the group, I search for my exit next! Two healers in a group of say 5 soloable mobs is next to impossible.

You hit a Healer Mob1 for 72 points of damage
Your Slam hits a Healer Mob1 for 159 points of damage
Healer Mob2 heals Healer Mob1 for 350 hit points
Healer Mob1 heals Healer Mob1 for 200 hit points
Healer Mob1 hits you for 300 points of Divine Damage
Healer Mob2 hits you for 269 points of Divine Damage
Healer Mob1&2 have owned you!

Wundabar!

that is what stuns and knock downs are for.. either have to burn them down really fast or time out the heals.. melee them down let them heal hit them with two big cas they will heal.. just keep dropping the health and all they will do is heal nuking very very little..

I guess that's why I have a stun spell now. I'll have to make better use of it. (Does anyone know what good upgrading it does? Fewer resists?)

Still though, something seems to be off kilter. When I do Harclave I can just stand there and let the group of mushrooms beat on me and they all take the damage shield abuse - healers live literally twice as long as any other type, and that's where everything I do is equal. They don't seem to care about healing their friends, only themselves. I guess that's what makes them monsters (hehe).

One thing I think needs looking into - they do a lot more than typical priestly damage. I wish I could nuke and hit like they do.

Another thing I thought of is that they probably have high wisdom, and thus high magic resistance. Most of the damage I do is magic (divine, to be specific). Maybe their wisdom needs to be tuned down a little.

Mind you, I'm not really complaining - it makes things more exciting and less predictable, which is always good. (I just wish I could tell who healers are before I get involved, their names don't always exactly scream "I'm a healer." Brewer? Unearthed? Just call them cleric shaman or druid for crying out loud. :)

I just hit 40 and got a load of new gear, I'm going to go pwn some n00bs.
