Decreased HateFollow

#1 Sep 10 2005 at 8:40 PM Rating: Decent
I have a level 24 inquisitor and one of my spells is "Confusing Babble". The description says it decreases my opponent's hate during battle. I'm not sure what good this does me. I know it's possible that if the hate is decreased sufficiently they may well disengage and wander off...but it has never happened in the times I've used the spell. I suppose if I'm fleeing the fight thats the best time to try it. Are there any benefits during a battle if hate is decreased?

Using any of these spells, (my warden, fury and ranger all have them), moves you lower down on the mob's hate list.

If we're talking about a solo fight, lower on that list doesn't really help you since you are the only one on his list.

These spells are really designed for reducing aggro in a group fight. My warden has used them while in a duo and the mob always spins right back around and concentrates on the tank like he should!

Hate reducing spells are used when you get aggro from monsters in a group due to healing your group members. If a mob turns on you, cast your hate reducing spell and you should move down the hate list and the mob should change his attention to the next person on the list, hopefully your tank.
