hey guys iam getting EQII soon and i want to be a damage dealer, now when i saw that monks and bruisers are used as tnaks i thought well thats not right cus in EQOA there more DDs, well anyways, i want to put out Damage, not like "wow omfg dmg" but damage enough that i would be needed/wanted as a DD lol.

i heard the archetype scout put out damage, so i looked into them, would a ranger be good for a DD? or would i have to go assassin or swash? i never been a ranger in any game so i think that would be a nice challenge, but do they deal good damage?

please compare:

swash assassin and ranger, like there pros and cons, thank you in advanced.

Try the thread on this page called "Best DPS Class".

When I typed this response it was the next one down from yours.

At level 21 or so rangers get a spell that will create 5 arrows out of thin air! Upgrading the spell, (to app4), will net you 30 arrows free every 15 minutes. I haven't run out since!

Subtle damage is what you want, and brigand is an excellent choice. It may not be attractive because of the Freeport issue, but once you learn the zones a bit you'll find their abilities quite impressive.

Group stealth, run speed, poisons, disarming traps, ability to duel wield, flipping and starting HOs, high-damage backstabs, and Ruse... which is an excellent skill. Not many play this class, but the abilities are excellent.

Swashies are more popular as far as I've seen. Brigands seem to be the least common scout on my server.

If you are in group one of the things you can do is target through the tank. This helps control your aggro and if every one does it, it lets coordinates the damage.
