OT... I hate dell ;pFollow

eh, i had some heat problems with my laptop and they came yesterday to replace a few parts..they put it together and it wouldnt boot.. so the tech didnt troubleshoot and called dell and said he would be back out tomorrow (which is today) and replace the parts again cause they are bad... So he left me with a bad laptop. Today they call and said they were going to my house (told dell to come to my work) and they wont be able to make it to my work for 2 days. So i told them to hold on and let me call dell. Called up dell and we spoke for a bit and they called up the tech and said they need to get out here today. They said they couldnt so i told them to have the tech go to my house and i will leave work early. They said the tech will call me back in an hour and dell said they would follow up with me. Got a call back from the tech and they said they already gave it to a different take that will be out in a few days and not the tech that was going to my house today and i was SOL. Dell followed back up with me and i told them this and they said they would call me back soon which was one hour ago.

So yeah.. i hate dell right now cause they took a laptop that worked and booted up fine..and made it a nonfunctional laptop.

I purchased a laptop from them a few years back and it stopped working about 5 weeks later. Dell's return policy is(was) a convenient 30 days. Their tech support was horrible, when I could get connected after a 30-45 minute wait, and long story short, my laptop never worked again. They said their warranty only covered hardware and claimed that I was experiencing a software related problem. A ridiculous claim, considering that even after reformating the hard drive and doing a fresh OS install, they computer would not boot to Windows, not even in Safe Mode.

$3000.00 down the drain. I will never do business with Dell again and strongly recommend the same to all my friends and acquaintances. These days I build my own desktop computers and am my own tech support, along with the help of many great people from various internet communities.

I'm sorry that you have become another victim of Dell's customer service. I feel your pain, I really do. I hope your ending is a happier one than mine.

soooo Yeah..still do not have a working laptop after 3 trips by there techs.... On hold with dell right now. I am soooooooo upset right now my hands are shaking... THank god they got hold time so i can cool down some.

well, looked up and they are sending me a 9300. Down graded screen (max res is 1440x1024) on a 17 inch screen. I at least want 1920x1200 on a 17 inch screen.

gave me a 60 gig 5400 rpm drive... i had a 60gig 7200 rpm.

Had XP pro..now have XP home lol (i got tons of xp pro linceses)

on the phone with "gary" right now trying to straighten this out to get a gen2 xps... I cant believe they are trying to replace a 4500 dollar laptop with a 1700 dollar one...
