Best DPS ClassFollow

Anybody know which class produces the most DPS? I'm not interested in tanking, using range weapons or solo'ing. Im just looking for the highest output DPS in a group situation. Thanx.

Assuming we're just talking about scouts here, bards are probably the least...although you could make a case that bard buffs raise the overall DPS of the group.

Assassins have the highest hitting special attacks, I believe, but they have the longest recharge times on those attacks. I don't know between ranger, swashbuckler, and brigand which one has the most DPS. Brigands have higher hitting attacks than swashbucklers, but longer reuse times.

Probably there won't be a huge amount of difference between those last 4 classes. It just depends on which type of attacks you'd prefer.

Thats up for debate... and until the endgame is here, I don't think we'll know.

In melee Assassins have the highest single hits, followed by Rangers, Swashy's and Brigands, then Dirges/Troubadours. This is however countered by timers on the different class's. The big hitting assassin abilities are on long timers, Assassins are usually top dog in the first fight, and Rangers usually out pace them over the course of several fights.

Swashys and Brigands are very good damage dealers (just under assassins and rangers), and have more utility than the Assassins and Rangers.

Bards, while being the lower end of the Scout DPS ladder, assists in raising the whole groups DPS on a whole, and are therefore very nice.

Outside of Melee the Wizard/Warlock class's offer up some exellent DPS as well, but comes more in a burst form.

(I copy and pasted this from my response to a similar question asked about a month or 2 ago, editted to reflect some minor changes in how much we know)

Lunex probably Swashbuckler or brigand they are in high demand at higher levels for their group stealth abilities. As far as soloing goes they are well rounded not sure about brigands but swashbucklers get a couple of stealths that when you break them they setup a buff that mezzes mobs that hit you. I have used this many times to stealth attack a mob turn off auto attack let it hit me once so it gets mezzed then HO trigger, debuff and backstab it also getting the HO in the process. The other mezz is just a mezz and by mezzing 1 mob in a group reduces the damage taken and downtime soloing.

i think that in the long run the rouge subclasses do the most damgae. but the most fun to play is the dirge because they boost the group as a hole and they do good fairly good damge on there own.

I would say brigand... but it depends on the level of skills.

For example, with my brigand (lvl 23... see sig) i just acquired ruse adept III. With this skill, i can (on a reasonably good hit) kill blue solo mobs in one hit. My highest hit with it so far is 689 and it refreshes every 40 seconds (i think). It can only be used from the front, so in solo this is fine and in a group you can just circle round to use it. However, the fact that most of the brigand's high-damage attacks can only be used from behind slightly mitigates the soloing ability. Ruse does make up for this somewhat, and it seems to me that most scouts only have big-damage attacks that can be used from behind.

Have you considered rolling up a Wizard or a Warlock? These 2 are far and away, the kings of the DPS game. Neither uses a bow and calling either one a tank is sorta like describing Micheal Jackson as a Manly Man! Beyond that neither is considered a real player in the solo arena... although they can, (and do), solo successfully...

I think that given your preferences, a scout might be the wrong character for you.

Not to pick but i noticed that the word "rouge" being used alot in these forums.

Just for an FYI:

Rouge: a form of the color red, or a topical powder applied to the face that enhances looks

Rogue: A melee fighter that uses stealth and cunning to defeat their adversaries.

Sorry grammar is a pet peeve of mine!

Ummm... not to put too fine a point on it, but shouldn't you have said "Sorry, use of poor grammar is a pet peeve of mine!"?

Oh, one more point. The error you complained about was one of spelling, not grammar.

If you don't mind fussing with poisons, begging everyone NOT to open the chests before you get a chance to pick them, relying on mostly flanking backstabs for DPS, studying all the best HOs and teaching children how to follow simple HO instructions, shelling out gold for the cost of arrows, and being a paper-tank with high risk for aggro problems...

You can put out some incredible damage even before you include the Heroic Opportunity-factor. I can and my equipment is horrible, though I have upgraded my CAs. Usually near the end of the fight the mob realizes he's been backstabbed 3-4 times and turns right into my lovely Ruse.

I won't argue that brigands have the best DPS, but we certainly create enough unmeasurable damage to justify ranking the class as a high-end damage class, and Ruse might be one of the best CAs considering the short timer.

Freeport is a lonely place and there usually isn't as much inventory at the broker's, but you'll enjoy the class if you give it a try.
