Now I was wondering... I purchased the CD version of EQII and when I logged in, it said I had a /claim award waiting. I didn't know that there was a /claim for the CD's?

Anyone have a clue as to what it may be? Thank!

Did you pre-order? If so, claim your j-boots.

On the inside flap of my box it says "INCLUDES: Animated statues for in-game player house." My guess is thats your claim.

When you type /claim a box comes up listing what you have available, then you have to click to take the item - like a loot window. If you don't take all the items you can claim what's left later.

I think all editions have /claim bonuses, even the CD version.
Its just that some editions like the CE have more bonus items.

Ahhh! Great many thanks for all the replies.

It was not a pre-order, so looks like I lost out on the boots. Drat!

Thanks Arvec. I didn't know that. I was worried that if I /claimed it, and it ended up being something I can't use, I just wasted it. It's good to know that I can see what it is before I decide to claim it. I'll have to check it out tonight.

Thanks again for all the quick replies!

Don't sweat the boots so much. They aren't like they were in EQ1. They don't even work for a scout, as a scout has the pathfinding ability. The J boots work the same as that. I would recommend not claiming them on a scout, save them for an alt. They said they made them so it wouldn't "unbalance" gameplay for those who didn't pre-order. So, it doesn't replace the pathfinding ability, or any other skills/spells that increase your speed. Also, I've heard that there is a higher level quest to get the J Boots as well. But I don't think that many people are going to do it, if they just have the pathfinding ability, or could get a spell that is better than them by just /telling a friend.

Yeah, I made the mistake of claiming my jboots on my druid, but I figure I will have a druid and a scout most likely, so um...the jboots aren't that helpful to me anyway hah.

I claimed my jboots, but I left the other items I got from pre-ordering in the claim window. That's how I knew you could just leave stuff in there for later if you didn't want them just yet.

You would think that they would inform you that the J Boots would be useless for a scout, or let you re-claim them on a separate character if you had already claimed them..

They did make mention that the effect doesn't stack with anything else, I remember hearing that one specifically several times before. But some people probably just don't know that scouts have a runspeed effect at all and are still thinking of EQ1 with a runspeed spell. And still others just didn't read forums and info sites quite as much eheh.

But yeah, I sympethize with other people that accidentally wasted their boots - well, I will as soon as I get SoW( I think it's still SoW? ) and then hang up my boots for a good long time.
