No, sadly.

I had to upgrade too. Except I used a PCI slot, and my old computer had no AGP slot. Sadly to say I had to rebuild my computer from almost scratch.

But hey, I got a computer out of the deal!

The MX seriiesd aren't supported. It's a hardware issue -- they don't have the shaders that almost all games are coming out with now: Half Life 2 be one of them.

You need to upgrade when you can.

What video card do you suggest then for the broke as a joke gamer who just wants EQ 2 to run, but still be one up from the LOWEST card. So like the second worst one I guess haha. I'm an nVIDIA man, so tell me what it's called and a price plz :)

a FX 5200 would be your best bet in that case, get one off ebay.

I just incurred this issue, as I have a newer HP rig that uses the GeForce4 MX Series (booo!). I didn't take a look at the "No" MX Series disclaimer on the GeForce products and just assumed >< Thankfully my second PC is newly built and I loaded it with a nasty GeForce FX 5900XT card to compliment future gaming, but it still left me hangin on the first PC and needing a new card for my other copy of EQ II...since me and my wife won't start playing unless we start together.

I went ahead and ordered a Radeon 9200SE AGP card instead of breakin the bank again on another FX Series card. You can get it for $60 with shipping from www.crucial.com and it's a real decent card for the price. Lowest price I can find on a reliable FX 5200 is around 60$ without shipping, and that's relying on a no-name brand supplying it (I don't particularily like brands such as XFX and Albatron ><). If you're gonna buck up the change though, go with a higher FX series GeForce cause it runs the game like butter ^^

Also, Geforce 4 "Ti" cards do run the game decently, as long as you're willing to sacrifice the eye-candy.

Some stores are packaging the GeForce FX 5500 OC board with the game. At BestBuy (I know..ack..!), they're $149 with a $60 rebate you get in the mail. This board will probably do you OK as far as running the game. I am running a Radeon 9600SE right now, but I am going to give the up and buy the GeForce tonight. Wish me luck..!!
