Question for you WarlocksFollow

#1 Nov 08 2004 at 3:42 PM Rating: Decent
Was reading on the EQ2 web site that Warlocks are able to summon some minions to attack there mob's. How strong are these minions compaired to a Necros pet for instance? Does it help in soloing or are they more or less like the Clerics hammer in EQ1

Also is the point of a Polymorph? What does the form change to your enemey do for you or your party?

My understanding is that they're a glorified damage-over-time spell.

Warlocks are a specialty of Sorcerers, not Summoners. My hunch is that the minions you are thinking about are, as someone already said, a glorified Damage over Time spell rather than a pet you get as a Necro or Conjurer.

Also, Warlocks are a NEUTRAL specialty and can be trained in both cities. Despite the description that they are "masters of death and decay", they are mostly wizards who use poison and disease spells as direct damage instead of fire, ice, and magic. They share some spells with Necromancers, but Necros are definately considered evil and more masters of death than a Warlock is. Think of Warlocks as being more like Dr. Orpheus from Venture Brothers instead of as traditional Necro's who twist the souls of the dead to do their bidding.

How powerful are there DD attacks? Like strong enough to kill a mob in 1 or 2 hits? or are they limited in soloing much like wizards in EQ1. and I am guessing they and wizards get the BEST DD spells in the game correct?
