I heard that once smaller zones have about 40 people in it and 400 for the really big ones a mirror zone is instanced and you have a second one. How does this work?
If i'm looking for a group and and the first zone is full and i want to go to that zone, will then a similar one be instanced? Will i then be alone in the similar one? And when someone leaves in the other one and opens a spot in that one will i then be able to switch instanced zones?
Maybe my perspective of instanced mirror zones is all wrong so please explain.

You always have a choice. When you click on the entrance to that zone you get a little popup that says, say, "Graveyard 1, Graveyard 2, Graveyard 3". You click on whichever instanced version you want to zone into. If you're in a group, you coordinate which copy of the zone you go into.

And when you do an lfg ooc in 'graveyard 1' do the groups in graveyard 2 and 3 etc. also see it? or do you need to make more use of a lfg window?

Only people in your instanced version will see your ooc or show up on /who lfg. They are each their own separate zone.
